Good Morning All! Hope your weekend is going great!

While some/most of you are preparing for the big game tonight, I am CELEBRATING!!!

My oldest son has been in wrestling since he was in 2nd grade, he's 15 yrs now. I have watched him grow into a great wrestler and not to brag or anything, but damn he is good!

He is always being matched with the best in his weight class and division.

Last year he made it to States, and then the Rona hit, and it was canceled!!! GRRRRR!

So he has been hard at work since and now is his time!

Yesterday was the PAC-7 Championships, my son Sam took second place!! His team took first place!!!

Above is my son with his team the Tulsaw Mustangs, Sam is the 4th blue shirt from the left, he's kinda hiding behind the two kids in the front, all you really see is his head and his hand, LOL. He is not as big as every one else, but he is quick and strong!!!

I am so proud of him for working so hard to get where he is now!

After this we go to Sectionals, then Divisions, then States!!!

Below is a link to one of his matches if you would like to check it out!!!! Full disclosure, he wins!!! He is the one in the red white and blue singlet.

There is something about watching your son win, slam the other kids on the mat, make them tap out, makes me a super proud mama!

The last match he lost by points, to a kid who is the third ranked division 2 wrestler in the state!! Wow! That was a good match let me tell you! LOL

To put things into perspective, Sam is only a freshman this year and his record is 20 wins with 9 losses. Last year he trained with the Shamrock Wrestling Club and got some really good coaches.

I look forward to these next years as I feel the best is yet to come!

This is Sam, his father Brannon, and myself! Proud parents for sure!

Now it's time for continuous practice and training.

Just goes to show what hard work can do for anyone who wants it bad enough!

Bring it on Sectionals!!! We got this!!!!

Okay, this is the end of my Proud Mama Brag Post (hahaha)!

May you all enjoy your SuperBowl Sunday and eat lots of food, drink lots of drinks, and have fun!!! Don't forget, it's monday tomorrow hahahahaha!!!!! (Which I believe should be a holiday for you football fans!)

Go Football!!! (not rooting for anyone specific lol)

Hi Angela, I am so pleased for your son's success!

Growing up in the UK, wrestling was not an activity that was part of my school curriculum, so I know very little about this sport.

But, with hard work and dedication in any aspect of life, you will be able to reach the top in whatever field you choose.

All the best for you and your family my friend.

Thank you Nick! Wrestling was something he chose to do, it is not part of the curriculum, and he loves it! He has definitely proved the hard work and feels the achievement of it.

Thank you

Angela

That is exciting. My son was a wrestler. I know it might sound odd, but that sport taught him to know himself and to rely on himself. You do have a team win or loss to which each wrestler contributes, but you win your match on your own. My son learned to work with others playing team sports, but wrestling taught him to work hard, develop his skills and rely on himself. I hope, despite the exhilaration of winning, that the sport gives your son those things. Good luck in future matches.

Thank you Jim! Yes I absolutely agree with your son. Sam has wrestled and played football all his life so far. He told me that he loves wrestling more, because of the individual accomplishment he gets when he wins a match. It taught him both how to play on a team and how to play alone. He knows what he is capable of, but also knows how to rely on himself for his own wins. I am so thankful that my son has been able to do the things he has done, and has a father who stands by his side and teaches him along the way.

Thank you for the kind words

Angela

That's awesome, Angela! Good for him, quite an achievement!

Thanks Rudy! Yes I am super proud of him! He has a great future a head of him!

Awesome!

Angela,
Congratulations to Sam and his proud parents.
Great job!

Barbara
