Blogging Every Day is Hard

I decided on Monday to blog every day for 90 days - I think I am throwing in the towel already in order to NOT beat myself up for missing a day!

I started a blog Wednesday night - in the hopes to have it finished Thurday morning by 9am

I worked on it when I came but ideas and organization was coming at a snails pace.

My ideas were not coming together - plus I was getting interruptions all day Thursday!

I kept working on that blog and working on it and I finally published it at noon on Friday.

Yep. Missed a day.

I am not going to fret or get sad. What I am going to do is adjust my sails.

Maybe writing a 1000 word blog every day is too much?

I just started the Email training that is available for Premium members under "Live Video Classes" - it started on March 4, 2018 and I watched the first video last night and want to upgrade my email marketing.

I am going to re-evaluate the amount of blogging I can do.

This means I am reevaluating my 90 day run.
Here is what I feel is important:

  • Read at least 1/2 hour every day
  • Listen to audio at least 1/2 hour every day
  • Focus on my ultimate goals and affirmations a minimum of 3 times a day
  • Write every day
  • Post a 1,000 word bog a minimum of every other day - preferably every day
  • Get an effective email campaign for freetrainingworkfromhome.com with at least 10 automatic emails by April 1, 2018

I have these tasks pinned to my wall in front of the computer - and they may change!

I am still learning and determined to get my websites organic traffic through the WA training, my efforts and God's will. I have big plans. I cannot fail. I will succeed.

How often do you post a 1000 word post?

Good plan! Press on . . .

You will notice variations as you go Heather. Some posts will have more quality. It's the overall progress of content that counts!

Thank you!

Hi heatherprude.
I like your approach and goal setting attitude but I am concerned on one major account - you need quality content. You don't want x number of words per day you need quality content that engages, helps and draws your audience in. If you become fixated on numbers you will end up with post no one wants to read. Not just some of your content but all of it. You will lose credibility.

I have written four books. Sometimes the writing came easily, often I faced the dreaded 'writers bloke'. It helps to write about something you are passionate about. This will show in your text.

How many words should you write or blogs complete in a week? Enough to do the job. That could be 100 of 2000 words. Get in the flow and write from your hart.

Sometimes targets are appropriate but at other times we are setting a target that sets us up to fail. Write from the hart with genuine concern for other and forget the number of words. You will know when enough is enough.

Good luck in your efforts. With WA you are never alone.

All the best.

Jim

Thanks Jim, great points - all of them.

Yes - I am trying to write quality content. I hope I am succeeding. Time will tell - maybe I should head over and give some reviews so I can get reviews back. Working on some training now and I might just do that.

Wow! 4 books. I am in awe. I have a book in me, I know I do.

I appreciate all your advice.

I had a goal of every other day and that was hard. I now try to do at least 2 a week. It might take a while to start making money and I know that it will take even longer because I'm only posting so much, but that's ok. I'm not giving up and I think that's important.

Great goals - and I see you are adjusting your sails too - we can only do what we can do! Keep up the good work.

You're right. You too!

I've been getting at least two to three a week but when I started 3 months ago I was lucky to get one a week. just keep at it :)

Thanks, Steven!

your welcome Heather

2-3 posts per week is where you want to be starting off. Have relevant topics to write about, get a routine going, and if you're pushing out 10 articles per month consistently your traffic will grow consistently as well.

Thanks, Eric - that sounds completely do-able!
