Overhaul of My Most Popular Page

Even though I have gone through and finished all the core training here, I have continued to learn from other members as well as watching Jay's amazing live video training.

The light bulbs continue to go off for me as I try and get the hang of this internet marketing thing.

So today I started my first true test with one of my pages to see what kind of results I can achieve.

I have a very short and simple article that I wrote and that happens to be my most popular page by far. It is spreading like wildfire on Pinterest and brings in nearly 1/3 of my total traffic.

The problem?

That page is an informational page and not a product review or monetized. It has an internal link but not much content on the page and no call to action. It was one of the first pages I ever wrote and it shows haha. So my bounce rate is over 90% as I gave no call to action.

So today, it got a complete overhaul. I added triple the content. Gave internal links. Made a graphic header (will look better in Pinterest too). Linked to various product reviews as appropriate and gave a call to action.

I am excited to track its progress in Google Analytics.

So a light bulb went on today which is just another step in me learning this new world! Wish me luck!

UPDATE:

Here's an update for anyone who is curious-

After day 1:

1. Traffic to page increased by 2/3 - shared again on social media so that's why

2. Bounce Rate before was 92%, Yesterday average went down to 86% - so moving in the right direction!

3 - Increased my page view time from 1min 30s to 3mins 22s.

Next up: I am going to create unique link IDs for my affiliate links on that page so I can track the conversion rate. In hindsight I should have done that yesterday. I had a slight increase in sales yesterday but could have been the extra sharing on social media...

So far I think the Overhaul has been a success!
