My Journey To Date in The Super Affiliate Challenge

Initially, I had not given the thought of joining Kyle’s Super Affiliate challenge. In my mind I have a lot on the go and was not considering adding something new. On receiving Kyle’s private message, I had to give it serious thought. I hate the whole concept of not giving any sensible challenge my full attention, which I know can lead to failure. On the other hand it was an area that I am a complete novice and offers an opportunity to learn and also be creative at the same time. So after a few days of deliberation I accepted the challenge.

The first week was fairly easy, but still challenging. The tasks set by Kyle although not new challenged what we had learned from first joining Wealthy Affiliate (WA). I have to admit I am revisiting the Certification Courses to refresh areas that I had completed at the beginning that are very relevant to completing the tasks at hand.

We were given primarily three tasks:
• Chose and purchase a brandable domain name and Theme
• Complete Phase 1of Bootcamp, and
• Complete pages/posts for : About Me, Privacy Policy, and a Review.

So how did I do? Like I said earlier, I thought the tasks were fairly standard and I could take my time to complete them. I was definitely wrong. I had forgotten how challenging it is to find a domain name that is a .com that is not already taken. What I did find that was of immense help, was deciding who will be my target audience(s).

Going through Bootcamp’s Phase 1, also helped with deciding on my brandable domain name and selecting a theme that I like.
The hardest part of course is creating content, especially the first three assigned. Not so much the Privacy Policy, because Kyle supplied a Template for us to use. The About Me and the Review took a bit more time, but once I got rolling the words just flowed.
I am on a learning curve in terms of using both Jaaxy and Site Content, but I am finding both enjoyable and will do my next content assignments using both.

We have now been given a month to complete the next tasks and on first blush it will not be an easy month, but definitely exciting.

I'm glad to see Kyle assume the mantle of leadership in a group of WA dedication. It's a perfect fit for a dedicated sharing person!

Thanks for your comments Michael.

You're on to it Harvey!! Keep it going. ~Mark

Thanks Mark, I trust you are progressing just as well.

Hi Harvey,
I enjoyed your article on your first week. I enjoyed our first week at SWAG training.

Now the monthly assignment looked overwhelming at first and may still be , but I realized I had to take one step of the assignment at a time. The anxiety level eased off a bi.

For me the biggest challenge will be the 12 articles for the month. I am having troubles getting photos transferred from source to downloads to WP Media. The Site Content did not have one photo of the the aircraft I was doing a review on.

I will figure it it soon. But these unexpected things can slow you down. I will finish all by 04 Mar!.

Best wishes Harvey in you adventure.

Bill

Yes the 12 posts/pages is a killer when combined with live chat and blog community but we can only walk one foot in front of the other. Concerning photos, what I have had to do is save them from the internet on to my laptop or iPad, upload to my OneDrive or ICloud then upload manually in Site Content. We are in this together Bill.

Thanks Harvey. I did not have any trouble before with the process of getting photos from source to Downloads to WordPress Media, it must be a computer hic-up. Thanks for your comments.

Bill

Sometimes Louisa, sometimes I actually do have it all together, but I am in uncharted waters right now. Let us see in four months how it looks and yes helping each other is the key.

Lol, Karen I remember some that I did when I was in my 20s that has I look back I should not have attempted. The majority were definitely opportunities to stretch myself and grow. Thanks for reading my update.

Harvey, we're at the same spot: you're doing it again after a while, I for the first time.... Yup, not so easy!
Tim

Glad to hear it Tim. I did it through the Certification Courses and my own niche. This is a totally new game for me. We will get through, keep in touch.
