Hi,
I have just installed Elementor and I am going through the tutorials, but however there are one particular issue that I can`t really figure out or find the tutorial that

go onto the elementor site - there are good videos explaining what to do - essentially you setup the elementor page as a template and it dynamically pulls in the post title, body text etc from your wordpress post.
take a lot of explaining - hence the go watch the videos.

Hi

This subject of using freelance writers has been up before but I need some further clearification.

I have found a freelance writer to write me great content (I

Hi - I believe we have had a conversation about freelance writers before. Under normal circumstances, if you are paying him as a ghostwriter, you own the content, and he has no right to have his name added to the work. As I mentioned before, of the 1000s of articles I have written for individuals or businesses, by accepting payment, I relinquish ownership of that content. However, this is an unusual situation, as you can't clearly write from a woman's perspective!

Obviously, you can't put his name to it either. You could add another "fake" user to your WordPress account, and make it a female name. Then publish it under that name. Or, as you say, thank the other writer at the end of the article.

As regards your other point, are you saying the article from the chef is already published elsewhere? If so, you shouldn't add it to your website. Even if you say it's by somebody else, Google will recognise it as duplicate content, and you won't get ranked by it.

If however, he has written it specifically for you for promotional purposes, then he will be expecting you to add a link to his blog/site, so obviously you will have to attribute the work to him.

Hi Diane, No the the chef has made the article specifically to me and is unique content, and he also added a link to his own website whithin the article.

Hi - that's fine then, go ahead and publish.

hi Hans -- all good questions & glad that you have provided some added context to them to help us understand your dilemma.

Well, it sounds like you want to maintain content integrity and to give credit where credit is due -- all good points for you!

I like to keep things simple and clear:

1. if you commissioned to have an article written for you and you paid for it, then it is yours to post as yours (of course with editing and proof-reading by you to keep coherence with your own style of communication and messaging);

2. in the two examples that you've given, it sounds more like a 'guest blog' situation and then of course, you need to introduce the guest blogger appropriately on your website and as they are the author / originator of the article, it is theirs to claim and of course you will need their permission to post their work on your website -- always best to be clear with written permissions in place if there's ever any doubt.

well, that's my 28 cents on the subject.... hope that helps you a wee bit in considerations for going forward with your work ...

all the best for every success, cheerio ... :)

Yes it is more like a guest blog scenario however the authors are payed writers to do the articles. They don`t do any claims on having their name put in there. As you said it is more of a content integrity matter yes.
Thanks a lot for your answer and comment :)

It is often a matter of the situation and your personal preferences/choice.

In your case, it sounds like it could make sense to actually have it written as another author.

Some people have freelancers that often write for them and the articles are written in the author´s name. Others choose to have freelancers as ghostwriters and post in their own name.

There is no definite right or wrong as it really depends on the situation and you.

Yeah, that`s what I have to consider I guess, post it under their name, or post under my own and add some introduction or side note dedicated to writer.

Thanks!

It depends on what exactly you aim... if your website will be more like a community page, and have sort of guest bloggers and colunists than yes.. I would put their name... else, it does not really make difference.

Yes I see your point. No, it`s primarily a "traditional" affiliate website. However with the attributions of the 2 mentioned writers it actually take the more form of a community page (kind of)

Yes, all you would need to do is update your affiliate links if necessary.

That sounds like good relief. Thanks for answering :)

Hey Hans,

It is most likely due to too little content that your site did not pass in the first place. Hang in there and keep creating content and THEN re-apply.

Hi.
I`m about to hire a writer for a recipe post. I will ask him to write an article that includes one of his own recipes. But if this particular recipe already is out there

Hi - by your use of the word "hire" I presume you are paying him as a ghostwriter? If so, once you have accepted the article, it is your property to do with as you wish and he no longer has ownership. Therefore it is up to you to reply to comments.

(I am a freelance web writer and proofreader, and once a piece of work has left my hands, I have nothing more to do with it. Often I don't even know where it has been published.)

Ah ok, so if, let`s say he is not ghostwriter he would then even insist on follow up on his own articles with comments on my site?

I haven`t made the actual hiring yet but I now understand what the actual definition of what a ghostwriter is

Thank you

Just a further clarification on ghostwriters - their name isn't published - in effect, you are "pretending" you wrote the article.

The other two options are to either pay a writer, but they retain the byline, ie you credit the article to them or the other option is guest blogging - a blogger in a similar niche writes an article with a link to their blog and in general you return the favour.

To be honest, I don't know how commenting would work in these two cases. I personally would be reluctant to give anybody admin access to do this.

This was indeed very helpful info, and valuable to be clear about these premises before hiring.
Thanks again

It's my understanding that the ingredients for a recipe are not protected by copyright but the method of putting those ingredients together IS subject to copyright. But don't take my word for it, do your own due diligence.

Yes, I would assume that it`s the "composition" of the recipe that would fail the plag.control if he has published it before.
Thanks for answering.
