It appears that those boxes are theme-specific customization options.
You can click "customize" under "appearance" in your WP dashboard to edit that option.

I have uploaded an image as my website header but when I view my site, the image is a lot darker than the original. Is it due to the theme I chose or is there a way I can make
I stand corrected about your theme not being able to cause the darkening. The fact that it's a background image (one that's covered by your site's content) is causing the darkening effect.
I've downloaded the image and I'll see what I can do with it.
I have found a theme very similar that does not alter the image, so I am using that instead. Thank you for all of your help.
Excellent. I was able to brighten the image a bit but it lost some contrast in the process. I'm glad you were able to work around the problem.
