Saving our planet one step at a time

Don't get me wrong I am no radical Greene or save the planet convert.

I am not even sure if climate change is caused by man kind .

I also think that your Greta Thunrberg is spreading some false information.

However What I am sure of is cause and effect.

A one girl stance has had a huge awareness in creating change and for this I applaud her.

I am in Australia where we contribute a low 1.3% of the problem and have many things in place to lower pollution, control plastic, save water and conserve fishing. A little is however not enough.

As the masses take the problem to their politicians change will result. Australia is a small voice but action is happening across the world. When China and India, Russia, Africa and many developing countries hear the voice we can then make a difference.

I recently attended a large local show and every stand except ours had plastic bags to wrap things in. Plastic is a pollution problem on a grand scale we can minimize the effect.

Change must come with economic benefits and not wholesale disruption to an economy.

Electric Power supply is a major issue with Coal fired stations spewing polutents into the air and time will see new ventures into cheaper and better electrical supply.

Nuclear is often considered a no-no and wind farms a blight so we need to be inventive. In warmer climates Solar Energy with a battery backup is a great alternative.

However battery cars are considered the world savior but hey they run on electricity and most often on grid times. I see a paradox here.

It is a long and controversial subject that generally has a decided voice and my offer to you today is what can you do every day to help make a difference.

One person at a time contributing to change.

Conserve power
Recycle or re-use
Get rid of Plastic bags and disposable items
Eat less Red Meat
Use natural resources
Conserve water

Your challenge is to actively do one thing everyday to support our future .

Hi Peter. Conversations, are the foundation of change, as a global, community, continuing conversations will help to find solutions.

The problems belong to everyone.

The only thing hysteria feeds is the status quo.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Watching with interest.

Currently planting heaps of trees.

Thanks, Alex
your opinion is appreciated.

Hi Peter. I certainly can't blame the young for wanting changes, after all they will inherit all the issues. Jim

If the World population is responsible then half the 7 billion should be illuminated.
Stupid greens just drove from the bottom half of Australia protesting for over a thousand miles about a new coal mine wasting a lot of fuel etc., to get there and when the pubs in the towns refused them Alcohol and food they vanished quietly and have not been heard of since.
Do as I say but not as we do is their motto.
Most of them are unemployables.

I don't disagree with you as protesting is often a Government paid job mixing with like-minded people with a personal agenda.

However, change is now inevitable and we can all do something about it.

We need larger countries to really come on board and participate in a constructive and rational manner.

There are many answers and solutions.

It must start somewhere.
