How hard is blogging?

As a writer I sometimes follow Quora and so many questions seem to be
about blogging.

However, many really just want to make money and get massive traffic without
a lot of effort.

So many times I am ready to give a smart arsed answer to a silly query that
I think is just soliciting a response.

Instead of that attitude taking over I thought why not just write a better blog about
blogging.

One question I read recently was "why are most blogs about blogging ?"
Should this really be true the readers would have all the information they need.

There are some critical steps to blogging and they are not just about writing.

The very most important starting point of Blogging, content writing or product
information is being read.

A fact that so many remain relatively naive about the use of Keywords and meta
descriptions means that they have little chance of success.

I stress the need for basic training in domains, hosting and keyword selection before writing a single word. That is why I am a Wealthy Affiliate promoter without fear of reprisal.

Any failure is then your responsibility, and inputs that you have done badly.

I am not a great writer but I have learned many of the tools that give my page an
average reading time of over 2 minutes.

This has been bought down overtime and I am careful to monitor this and the drop out rate.

Understanding that people are reading what you offer then means you can concentrate on links, going to pages that make money.

Links are an interesting part of writing. I read a report recently from a well respected source that simple links work better that banners, then banners that are small produce better than big ones. I am attempting my own survey on this using pretty links to gather data.

We digress we are looking at the tools of blogging that put together a structure for a chance at success.

My take starts with;

1. The niche subject
2. The keyword selection using a great tool
3. The meta description.
4. Subject length an average of 1500 words ( often asked question)
5. Heading going down from top to bottom and not all over the place.
6. Links, Inside, out bound and authority sites
7. Pictures
8. Short sentences and paragraphs
9. Having a problem, stirring the problem and finding a solution
10. Branding and building a following
    
    There are more rules but I believe these must apply to every written piece.

Fortunately this and lots more is available in the training at Wealthy Affiliate

which is, without doubt, the best starting point for any blogger.

Wealthy Affiliate forum also provides emotional support in the down times of
your journey. The flat periods we all suffer from and the most beneficial support comes from those that understand your journey.

Finally, blogging is not an overnight sensation, it takes time and effort to achieve a result
and will never be a quick cash fix product.
Should it be so easy there would be a lot more bloggers than the half a billion currently
typing a nice piece on a subject they love.
