Some interesting news to share after 117 days with Wealthy Affiliate.............

Grace and Style

When I wrote my Blog yesterday I had no idea at all that I would wake up to find myself with a new badge, serendipitous it was indeed, as Yoda might say LoL.

I would like to take the time to share the first message I received, which was on my profile.

As I was moving into the group of 25, labelled the Ambassadors, another really great character was moving out of the group, having signalled his intention to do so a couple of weeks ago.

That member left me this message:

Even as Dave was heading off to concentrate hard on his business ventures, he demonstrated good grace, class and a caring attitude, typifying those characteristics which I spoke of in my Blog of yesterday.

I am sure that we will be seeing glimpses of Dave for some time, and that those who have built relationships with him, will continue to enjoy those relationships for years to come.

On behalf of everyone that he helped while in the Ambassador role I would like to thank him sincerely for his investment in all of us who have benefitted. They are indeed big boots to fill.

As I said yesterday there are a broad range of views of the ranking system and its value. No matter, it is to each individual whatever it is, and no one view is right or wrong (in my opinion)

I continue to see it as a minor recognition of a willingness to be available for, and to help others.

It follows that the individual is noticed for helping, by the many responses of the people they have helped. The algorithm which calculates this, which we are told by Kyle is a complicated one, is measuring, among other things, the comments and likes of those helped, and of those who observe and applaud such help by their comments and likes.

So I just wanted to say thank you to all of them, all of you that is, who have recognised my efforts to help in this way.

I really do appreciate it very much.

Responsibility

My Experience of Rank

My views on rank come from having spent all of my working life in a system where it plays a significant part in the day to day lives of myself and the people I work with.

I have held significant rank and with that authority and responsibility. I have also been no stranger to my own share of accolades and honours over the years of my working and private life.

I have never been of the illusion that rank brings with it respect, that is earned by deeds, and I have always tried to live by the motto of the Academy where I did my early training

I confuse none of that with what this is. As I said yesterday, it confers no authority, or seniority nor any particular expertise.

But it does confer responsibility to represent this community in a good light, and as long as I hold the title ( a day, or a year or longer) to continue to be prepared to help others.

I can happily assure you that after 45 years of service I am up for, and up to, that responsibility

I will always do my best.

With that I wish you all a restful, peaceful and perhaps WA industrious weekend from New Zealand.
