Kia Ora,

Good Morning from New Zealand, friends and colleagues.

That's a picture of a Hindustan Ambassador above, Isn't she beautiful! Cars are just one of my many passions, especially diecast toy cars. I have a collection of somewhere around 500 of them LoL.

Where was I.....oh yes Ambassador...

Well how can I be, why should I be an Ambassador after only 120 days on the WA platform?

Don't ask me, its not my algorithm LoL.

But given that I have been asked the question, and as my parents brought me up to be polite, I will give you the best answer I can, and in doing so perhaps quell some dazed expressions out there LoL.

What Does It Mean to Be Jimbassador

Why Jimbassador?

Jimbassador is a nickname that some more experienced hands here on the WA platform have chosen to label me with. (Thanks Mark and Chrystopher just love your work.....)

Why?

Well my WA moniker, Hamish, is the Scots Gaelic form of James, the name on my birth certificate. My father was James my Grandfather and Great Grandather were also James ( no imagination in my family, or really good at recycling, take your pick!)

All my life James has been shortened to Jim so I have become Jimbassador!

Being an Ambassador Means What

As I have said in previous posts, the title means little and it confers no additional privilege or advantage. I am still just a premium member pursuing my business building activity in the same way that everyone else is.

Nor does it imply that I have vast knowledge about Affiliate marketing; couldn't be further from the truth LoL. I am learning at a furious pace from all around me on this platform.

Being an Ambassador means that I have been willing since day one to help others and I personally do that for three reasons.

  1. The Right Thing It is just the right thing to do, it is the way I have been brought up.
All my life I have emulated my dear departed Father and have looked for ways to give back to my community. This is why I am a Veterans Welfare Officer and a Marriage Celebrant and a New Zealand Justice of the Peace, a School Board Trustee and the Patron of my local Air Cadet Corps. For me, it is all about giving back to the community that I live and work in. WA is now part of my wider community and so in keeping with my personal philosophy I seek to give back.
  2. Building Networks By being engaged I build a network of friends and trusted advisors who help me to grow and develop here in the WA community and in my business ventures.
  3. Motivation Altruism is like a battery charge for human beings. All of my contributions usually result in a response from those I help (not always favourable LoL). Interaction at a more than superficial level keeps me motivated and enthusiastic.

My Expertise For The Record

I can tell you where my expertise is. Much investment has been made in me over 45 years in all forms of writing and I have been a freelance content write as a side gig for slave wages LoL.

I have a Masters degree in Information Management.

I am a very experienced trainer, having designed built and delivered training and education systems for complex IT and Communications related environments.

I am a seasoned motivational leader, organiser and planner accross the Operational to Strategic continuum. I have trained and developed other leaders over 4 decades.

I am an experienced Father of 5 children aged 11-28!

I have over the years managed and led staff complements of 1 to 1500 souls and had major successes, particularly in initiating teams and ventures from a standing start.

It is all of this that I draw upon to offer the advice, motivation and encouragement that I do in my role as am Ambassador at WA and that I would do, even if I were not an Ambassador.

My Advice at WA

When I interact with people here at WA my advice is based on the knowledge I have, or I will state

that it is my opinion, which may differ from others, and a second opinion may be warranted
If I don't know the answer I always make it clear that I don't. I am not here to impress anyone I don't need to.
That said 9 times out of 10 times, I will usually know where to get the answer, and for newbies that is gold dust, just being pointed in the right direction. I know that because I am a newbie and I know what it feels like

I frequently point people to the experts that I know can help them, these are the knowledgeable souls that have helped me in my time at WA so far.

How Long To Grace the Ambassador Ranks?

Don't know and don't care really, not my decision, it is actually yours, because it is your reactions that put me here LoL.

As long as I have the capacity and motivation to post in my WA Blog and help people, where, if, and when I can, then I will continue to do so, Ambassador or not.

In the meantime I will continue to drink, from this phenomenally refreshing fountain of knowledge, and enjoy my many interactions with all of you, and in particular the really great virtual friends that I have made, since joining WA on 13 January this year.

I wish you all a pleasant afternoon, from New Zealand, friends and colleagues.

Kia Koa, Kia Kaha

Ok I have to know. You have probable already stated this in your previous posts, but I don't remember seeing them before I left at the end of February. What does your greeting and ending mean? I am just curious.

Now getting to your posts. I always read what you post and always learn something from you. It may be for future use, but I always carry away a seed of something that will be planted lated to grow on.

Take care
Charlotte

Charlotte,

From the Maoris in New Zealand/South Pacific.

Meanings:

Kia Kaha - stay strong
Kia Koa - be cheery/happy

be safe and well.
Cassi

Thank you Cassi

That is most kind Charlotte and Cassi, who has, live in NZ, has given you exactly the right translation of the Te Reo Maori🧐

Kia Mihi Cassi

You are welcome, Charlotte.

Mihi Mai Ra, Hamish.

I think you are a great writer. Writing is not my strongpoint and a little scary and overwhelming for me. I am intelligent but I sound like a country bumpkin. Lol. But I throughly enjoy reading all you blogs. I know in the future I will be reaching out to you for your help. And I must say your help in the community is quite impressive.

Best Regards
Stay safe
Regina

Thanks Regina kind words, stay in touch and good luck🧐

Thank you. Have a great day. Happy writing.

Best wishes,
Regina

🧐👍🏼 always and you too

Thanks Jimbassador, helping people in an altruistic spirit is a lovely thing thing to do and I appreciate the help available here at WA, I like to give back too and assist where I can; my knowledge is currently somewhat limited but I have a few years of life and business experience.
Carry on being "HAMbassadorISH"
Cheers
Rick

Ooh I like that one will have to direct Chrystopher and Mark to that one LoL🧐

Good, have a great weekend Hamish.

👍🏼🧐 you too buddy

A wide choice of names to call you, Jimbassador :) I'll go with Jim if you don't mind, for some reason i like it more than the other two. Anyway, you are a great ambassador with a lot of enthusiasm and readiness to help so I believe you will stay there for a long time.
Lenka

LoL thanks Lenka always nice to talk to you, thanks for the comment appreciated 🧐

I like 'Jim' if that's alright with you ? Not that I don't like 'Hamish' I do, just prefer 'Jim'. Maybe I'm a lover of monosyllabic words, who knows.
I was going to say 'the underlying ethos' but it sounds slightly disengenuous to the platform. Let's say, that WA has been built with 'Paying it forward' at its core.
It's right that those who advocate that sentiment, should be recognised for doing so.
Those with raised eyebrows and dazed expressions, would do well to remember that.

LoL I got used in life to being called both James and Jim to whomsoever was talking to me parents teachers employers sibling etc.

Hamish is new and a self indulgent affectation for this platform. As they are essentially the same name from the same root the fire way my good man and use my weekday given name of Jim (James for Sundays by the Episcopalian priest LoL)🧐

So it shall be written then.

LoL👍🏼🧐
