Good Evening, from New Zealand Friend and Colleagues,

Carrying on the wisdom theme which I embarked upon last night, with The Wisdom of Others

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/hamish58/blog/the-wisdom-of-...

I got to thinking about some things that it would have been useful for me to know in my twenties that now I seem to know about at the age of 61!

Here are 12 ideas that may well reverberate with many of you. If you are a twenty-something here is an opportunity to get ahead of the crowd 😂 🤣

Our Own Expectations Are The Only Ones that Need be Met

No matter what expectations society has of us the only one that we cheat at the end of the day is the one looking back from the mirror each morning who is holding in their hand the same colour and make of toothbrush as we are!

Grit Counts Above All

Perseverance will beat most if not all things I have found.

Excuses Don’t Count

Excuses are just a waste of time commit and deliver and take ownership of actions and deeds.

Save Money

As soon as you can, do put a portion of earnings into savings you will never ever regret it while you will forever regret not doing so.

Nurture Your Health

You get one shot at being alive. Your comfort in later years depends on how well you look after yourself in your early years. You cannot put too high a price on good physical and mental health and in mobility.

Be Fearless

Live life like you mean it, try many things, have many adventures don't get to your senior years and say what if.

Always Find Ways To Improve

We are never as good as we can be, life is a journey not a destination, there are always new things to do, better ways to do them, and more things to achieve.

Choose Relationships Wisely

Know who your friends are and when you know always look after them. When people take advantage of you have the courage to cut them loose.

Value Time

Particularly with those you love, children are children for such a short time and they are a joy in life not an inconvenience our behaviours shapes their behaviours and they are our legacy

Live in The Moment

Savour all experiences, take nothing for granted, absorb the richness in life and know that we have lived life to they full.

Dare To Be Different

Different is good challenge is healthy, variety and diversity of thinking is a power that the human race has harnessed for hundreds of thousands of years bringing us to the point we are at. It easy to conform, it is courageous to be different, to stand and be counted.

It is Never Too Late To Start

If you didn't learn or know these things in your twenties and you are now in your thirties forties, fifties or like me a youngster in his sixties then apply as many of them as you think you should now, because it is never too late, or too early to receive wisdom.

With that, Friend and Colleagues, from New Zealand, I wish you all a Happy Easter

A lot of advice here to comment on all excellent of course.

But I love the last one! 'It's never too late to start'... How so true! and it's all down to impressions and peer pressure.

A man or woman in their early 40s with kids etc is generally considered to be at a time of their life when they should be settled and not really venturing on doing something new! Whether it be sky-diving or business ventures etc.

But the absolute fact is they are only half way through their lives (assuming they live past 80) and only half way through their working live (assuming working till 65).

Surely a man or woman in their early 40's should actually be considered as the ideal entrepreneur. They have the experience and knowledge gained of their youth but the time to implement their plan and make things really happen.

I emigrated LoL🧐

Don't tempt me! A small island in the middle of nowhere would be so perfect right now! As long as it had WIFI...lol

Good afternoon Hamish,

Some good things in your post.
I have a ceramic cow and Michael has a pink pig. After shopping, I get the 1 Euro coins and the pig gets the 2 Euro coins. It is quite amazing what one can save like this and it goes unnoticed but it is a nice sum after 6 months.
I am happy that I started to get interested in the effect of food on my health. This happened in 1986. Now I can say even if I am quite a bit older I am in good health.
One is never too old to learn something new.

Stay safe and healthy, Taetske

Thanks Taetske, your photographs certainly show the wisdom of good health. Have a happy Easter and we will talk again soon thanks for the comment appreciated,🧐

Wise indeed Hamish.

Have a great day tomorrow!

Trevor

Thanks Trevor Happy Easter how goes it with you any change in the COVID situation locally?🧐

Very interesting post. Thanks for sharing

Thanks Clement Happy Easter how is your WA journey going?🧐

My favourite one in there is the last one Hamish. It is, indeed, never too late to start.
There are many Boomers all over the world wondering how the heck they are going to be able to quit work when they are relying on their wages or salary to see them through each month.
Without that 40/50 hour a week commitment many won't be able to pay their bills and retirement without penury would be a pipedream.
Mark

I’m with you Mark and thats why I am chasing passive income now before it passes me by thanks for the comment 🧐

Good on you Hamish, I wish you well with your endeavours👍
