You Can NOT Legally Steal This Blog

That's right. You cannot legally steal this blog...

Or anything else for that matter. Have you ever received an email offer for software that "legally steals" Youtube videos or someone else's website content that links or redirects to a page that YOU control? Well I have news for you. It's NOT legal and there is a name for it:

BLACK HAT

It refers to training, techniques and/or software that's been specifically developed to rip people off. Internet Marketing newbies in particular. Some of the methods include keyword stuffing, link jacking, link cloaking and content duplication. It's all the search engines can do to stay one step ahead of the Black hat hackers, and in many cases, the hackers are the ones who are a step or two ahead. There is nothing legal about what they're doing. And even if the legality is a grey area, it's more often than not, downright UNETHICAL. Period.

Think about those two words for a moment:
Legal
Stealing

Sorry - no such thing. The definitions are diametrically opposed. Stealing is illegal to begin with. You can't have it both ways. Anyone who chooses to justify or rationalize the use of any method or software that allows you to take shortcuts in an attempt to make lots of money fast, then you are ethically challenged.

As for you others, (and hopefully, that's the majority), do your due diligence. Search Google for "black hat" "link jackers" "stealing web content" and learn about these things and how to protect yourself. Actually, one of the best things you can do to protect yourself is to have your sites hosted here at WA. They are very security conscious.

But it's only just a start. Learn how to protect your content and avoid sabotage by unscrupulous internet marketers and hackers. Knowledge is power.
