Last Update: December 08, 2017

I was wondering if there are themes better than another?

Are they all equal? The website is Blogs no store in.

Like some opinions, and if some works better than another.

All themes are not considered equal. I suggest picking a few that you like, then search to see what is included in each one. For instance, does it include comments on both pages and posts? Not all of them do. If you have an idea of what you would like your website to look like and what you would like to have your website do, it is easier to choose.

Hi, Anita. How do you do the search to find out about the different themes? I'm not exactly happy with mine, but don't know if it's because of the theme or the difficulty maneuvering it I had in the beginning. I don't know where to look to find a description of what the various themes are like. Carol

You can search the here at Wealthy Affiliate to see if anyone has written anything about the theme you are considering, or you can search for information on the Word Press website (wordpress.com). You could also try searching in one of the search engines. I think word press would have the most information.

I use Themeforest with is part of the Evanta network. They have the largest and best variety of premium themes. You can search any niche, style, industry, etc. Their live demos are great, and you can communicate directly with the developer of the theme.

Najm hi

I have no technical answers still at this point-really. However, I do have an opinion which may or may not be of benefit?

I did watch one of Kyle’s walk through videos the other day for setting up a website and he suggested a theme that was very simple. Keep it simple.

The point is, the theme was simple but it looked professional. It looked sharp and easy to navigate, which is what I will be aiming for. It is in fact a website that I prefer to navigate myself.

I’m not a fan of distracting websites, things popping up everywhere and misleading etc.

I think it’s the quality of the content together with a clear navigating website that will do the business.

Sorry probably not very helpful. In the last couple days I accidentally came across a couple of WA member websites whilst surfing around, they did stunning jobs of their creations. Very professional, very detailed, quality content and not overdone.

If I wasn’t a member already I would have joined WA through their websites.

As bigrog below says what theme will fit your website which sounds good as well.

Have fun!

No, they are not.

If you want a theme for e-commerce type in the theme search bar e-commerce. If you want a site for photography type photography, for blogs type blogs etc.

There are some themes that require many plugins to operate correctly and look their best, One, for instance, requires 8 plugins alone without image compression etc.

Hi, as I understand it, it's just a matter of preference according to the type of site you intend to have, mainly in the looks and features offered by the theme. If you try different free options from the WP repository, they are guaranteed to be WP approved and should work well. Where you might find certain advantages would be when deciding to pay for a Premium version of a theme you like; in this case there may be additional options you desire, or their level of support might be better or worse from one to the next. Hopefully others will be able to give a more specific recommendation based on their experience. Cheers!

It's pretty much up to individual taste. Try to find something that is appealing that will blend well with your niche. Remember each site can be customized to your individual needs. If what you develop isn't what you think it should be, it is possible to change themes. Good luck.
