Hello Family =]
If I want to make one of my existing pages into a blog post, am I safely avoiding duplicate content by disabling SEO and Google analytics on the blog post
If you move content around on your own site, this is fine. It is only when you are taking content from somewhere else and putting in on your site when this becomes an issue.
I usually don't move pages => posts simply because you can organize your menu any way you like with custom menus, but completely up to you. This will not affect your rankings other than the page itself (if it is already indexed, you might lose some indexing).
Google has its own way of doing things, even if you uncheck everything it is still not a guarantee they won't look anyway.....it is set up that way.....you can do a re-write by simply rewording a few items here and there, or perhaps alternating paragraphs, addition paragraphs....actually, this applies to all search engines but in particular Google due to its popularity. There are free tools that can check your content before you publish it to make sure it will not be considered duplicate....

I'm going by what Kyle says in the training about checking the four or five boxes on the SEO options when we did our Privacy Policy; seems to me this is a similar circumstance, in that I just don't want Google to index that page. Thoughts?
Yes Gwynn. We click No Index and No Follow as we do not want Google to index the Privacy page.
I think Google is smarter than that, and I would never duplicate content exactly, try rewriting it differently.

You can move anything on you own site, it's only when you copy from someone else's site that it is a problem.
