Good morning, everyone. I was wondering if you guys could help me with a few questions. The first is, when you start earning money how do you pay the taxes on it? Second, when

Hi Gretchen, seems like benjaminpate has a wealth of knowledge there. Wish I could help.
All the best,
Michael

Thanks for trying to help me

(If you are in the United States - this will help answer your question - I am not a tax professional) I havent earned anything as an affiliate but I have worked independently for years - I'm my independent work I receive income on a 1099 (this is what you will receive as being self employed). You get a copy and and so does the IRS - you will just have to file all of this in your returns. If you file your return currently you may get something like a 1099-MISC for interest earned in the bank or something like that.

Now the thing that you will be responsible to do is to pay your quarterly taxes when you earn income. If you are self employed then you will have to pay self-employment taxes (if you work for someone they normally pay half and you pay the other).

Now this may sound overwhelming and years ago it was to me (even though I had a business background and education) but once you grasp it all, it really isnt that bad, you will just have to keep your books in order. Any expenses that is related to your business is a business expenses so keep all your business expenses in order. It would be a good idea to consider using a program such as quickbooks to help you track those expenses. Additionally it would be strongly advised to find a good CPA.

Once you begin to generate some real income you will need a expert in the tax code to help you - the code changes annually and having the expertise behind you will help out - and really when income really starts to roll in its better to pay for a professional and use your time to focus on your business - it is worth the cost. hope this helps.

Benjamin thank u for helping me have a great day gretchen

Your welcome

If you're unsure about taxes then I suggest seeking the help of a professional accountant, they will be able to offer advice.

You can get paid via whatever means you like. If you want to get paid by cheque, simply look for an affiliate program that pays check... And similarly you can get paid as often as you like, you just need to select affiliate programs that match your criteria.

Really, I had no idea. Thank you! For the information. I will set that up. I'll ask our CPA then about taxes.

Thanks, your information has been ever informative..

Good evening,I was wondering if you could earn extra money without having a domain. We are in between pay checks. I would like to try to start earning some money as well to con

Hi Gretchen,

To add to everyone's response already, I would also say to start with a free SiteRubix.com site and then when you're ready, you can buy it at a later time and it's super easy here to transfer your free site to your own domain then.

Consider also that domains are an annual cost and about $15/year.

Your hosting is included with your Premium membership so that's taken care of.

So start with a free site and just take your time. A free site does take a little longer to rank on search engine because they are on a subdomain, so you may consider this as well.

This business already takes a little while to see results so having a domain of your own can help things a bit, but not a HUGE much that you have to get a domain now.

I hope this helps you and didn't confuse you. :)

Anyway, if you have further questions, please do go ahead and ask them.

Best,
Grace

It's possible, but you should know that most people that get a free site to make money came in with knowledge and experience already. If you are new to affiliate marketing it will be fairly difficult.

If you can't upgrade to premium at the moment don't worry about it. Just work your way through the free lessons and use it to build up your siterubix site. You won't lose anything because when you get ready to upgrade and get your own domain you can transfer everything over very easily. You won't miss a beat :-)

AJ - she is premium :)

Ah, missed that. lol

But the same advice still applies to the purchase of a domain. Just rock it with the free site until funds are available.

Thank you! Now have to do some research.

Hi Gretchen -

Yes, you can make extra money with a SiteRubix website, but consider the following:

Your SiteRubix subdomain will be owned by WA (not you). This means that you will not be able to sell or move your website.

Also, subdomains, as opposed to top level (.com/net/org) domains are not as prestigious, and can look less professional.

The cost of your own domain is nominal (around $15 for a year), and your hosting is included in your Premium membership. So in a sense, you're already paying for hosting - why not use it?

However, if it is impossible for you to purchase your own domain at this time, do start with a SiteRubix website. You can always transfer that website to your own domain at a later time.

Thank you! This has been so helpful.
