Ranking system
Hi,
I want to say straight off, this is in no way a complaint. I would just like to understand the ranking system.
I enjoy doing what I am doing, helping others, welcoming others etc and would do so even if I did not get points for it.
But when I looked today at my rank and the changes I was a but surprised and can not make sense of the system.
Although I have not been writing many WA blogs recently I have still been helping others on live chat, giving feedback, interacting with others via PM and leaving comments.
I noticed that my activity rank dropped 63 points overnight and am wondering if anyone can shed light on the extreme drop. that was in ONE day!!! My helper rank also dropped about 25 points and my creator rank 43 points.that was a total of 131 points overnight.
is there anyone who udnerstands the system that can explain this to me?
I am still going to continue doing what i am doing irrelevant of the points and rank, would just be interested to know.

I should probably stop obsessing over my rank lol! Once you know it's there, its hard to stop looking at it and trying to boost it up all the time! Business comes first :)
yes you are right and I am glad that I don't obsess over it; that would be such a waste of time!
The WA ranking just tell you how active you are here (answering questions, Blogs, creating training) But honestly you shouldn't worry about your WA ranking as it is not helping you make money and building your online business which we are all here for..

Don't click on your own links. A lot of people think that this doesn't hurt but it does. Read time is very, very critical as well
What do you mean don't click on my own links? You mean the blogs I write? And what is read time? Not heard that one before
If you are on a organic search through Google and find your post then don't click it, Google knows that it is you if you are on the same device that you edit from. It will hurt you as they think that you are trying to trick them.
I know from experience, I thought it was cool when I first started and rank on page 3 then minutes later I ranked on page 12 because of me clicking my own link.
It may have been by something else but I doubt it because it has never happened again because I check but don't click.
I guess it would be safe if you clear your cache but why chance it.
Thanks for sharing this experience. I didn't know it happens this way. So what's the best way to confirm if your website has been indexed? Give ideas please.
I was referring to the WA rankings actually. Thanks for the advice about clicking on my own links.
Hi Vee, I'm not sure how it works but one day I realised a drop though not as drastic as yours but that day I had spend alot of time interacting with people here. I don't do anything for ranking here but I also noticed a change may be the more experienced people here can tell us how it goes.
That happened to me as well. My rank went from 80 something to 100. I have not put the ranking here in perspective yet. If you learn something please share.

It basically means what people close to you in the ranking do. Weekends are very competitive while during week days you can drop faster
