I made a mistake!

Yes, I admit (and admitted) that I made a mistake.
I take full responsibility for not being 100% attentive
in the moment when I switched from the Site Feedback tab
to the Site Comment tab.

Just for those of you who might not have read the blog from Tony, I apologised to him as soon as I read his blog. As far as I can see there was no danger, as suggested, that I would have caused damage to his website. The feedback/comment did not go beyond the realms of the WA community as far as I know.

This blog received MANY comments, some of them surprising to me
in their tone and content; my integrity was questioned, as was my intelligence, there was an insinuation that I was being disrespectful, and too lazy to go through the training. It was also questioned whether or not I had bothered to even read the post - well it actually was not about a post but about what I had intended as feedback on the comment site.

From many of the comments I gathered that few had actually READ what I had written as I made it clear in my contribution to Tony, that I was wanting to give feedback; I was in no way criticising him. Ironically I was criticised directly and indirectly for giving feedback by some who themselves were criticising rather than giving feedback. Many comments pertained to what Tony had written and not to the content of my contribution.
We are all human.

1. I would never be disrespectful to ANYONE in the community.
2. I don't think this has anything to do with my integrity, which I think would have been apparent had the actual "comments" I made been read
3. I am not too lazy to follow the lessons; actually, I am slower than I would like to be because I do read them more than once! This has put me in the position to be able to help others and answer questions.

The question for me in all this is what do I choose to do with it?
Do I react and get angry, dismissing those comments as negative, etc etc.?
or do I respond and learn from it.
The only choice for me is the second one.

I think we can all learn from this, and have seen this from the private messages I have received; I thank you for your apologies.

What have I learnt?
1. This is just a reminder that we are all human.
2. That each person has their opinion, which is coloured by their own personal experiences and does not necessarily always have something to do with the issue at hand.
3. This is a reminder to be grateful when such opportunities for learning and growth show up
4. To definitely remember to check twice that I am actually giving feedback, when that is my intention and that I am not in the Site Comments rubric :)

There were also many who said this had happened to them in the past. In light of this, I would like to suggest that maybe the location of the buttons are switched so that they are not next to each other.
I have no idea how simple or difficult this would be, and hope no-one takes offence at this; it is just an idea which might solve this issue in the future.

Like I said we ALL make mistakes, but they are there to learn from.
I believe t is more helpful to give some helpful feedback when this happens and maybe suggestions for improving the situation, than putting a person down.
My intention with writing this is not to blame, criticise, judge anyone
or exonerate myself, but to take positive action in pointing out something that needs to be changed, or at least considered, rather than sitting in my box and complaining about it.
What each person does with it is up to the individual, and whatever that is, is perfectly ok with me.

I made the mistake. I hope you learn from mine and don't make the same.

Thanks for reading, Wishing us all a successful and inspired day. :)

Hey honey, it is true that we all make mistakes and there is a fine line between them. Lots of people and making the same mistake between the too.....i am glad you found a positive xoxo

I think maybe there should be more training available on it. Lots of love to you and yours :-))

Thanks

:-) xoxo

I think we have all learned from your mistake. And what I have learned is to admit to my mistakes publicly because I really respect you for this, Vee.

Time to move forward. Wishing you much success.

Nicely done.

thanks

Kudos to you for standing up and being counted - I wouldn't have known it was you from what Tony said. Well done for admitting your mistake - we could all learn something from you :)

thanks babes.

Hi,
I saw Tony's blog yesterday and I was about to make a reply when I decided to scroll down and take a look at the other comments and when I saw your reply, I decided the issue had been put to rest and I didn't reply.

When I leave replies I do tend to scroll down to see the other comments because, I don't want to keep rehashing something that has already been said over and over again,
I want to try and add some value to the topic if I am going to reply but, I think that some people don't read the other comments and simply leave their thoughts after reading or skimming through the content.

From what I saw, you recognized yourself in Tony's blog and you then stepped in to acknowledge and to apologize for your mistake so, I wouldn't sweat it, you did the right thing and you should be commended for your honesty.

We all make mistakes and we all live and learn,

Have a great day

thanks Forrest, as far as i am concerned the issue is now over for me. just hope we learn from it and especially that others dont make the same mistake with confusing the feedback and comment tabs

Mistakes are essential to growth, especially spiritually. I hope you have learnt the lesson. Forgive yourself, and move on. I am sure, Tony too have forgiven and moved on.

I make 2 mistakes before I get my first cup of coffee down Val. Stuff happens how other people react is on them.

Wow:(. I'm sorry that happened to you. I make mistakes all the time; in fact many, many times a day! The fact that you're choosing to move on and remind us that we are, indeed all human, says a lot about your character:). Thank you for sharing this:). Just remember, tomorrow will be better than today! Believe:)
