Hi Everyone,

Does anyone have any insight in regards to having a website with more than one niche? I.e. fitness/ health has nutrition and exercise. Would more than one nic

I see no reason why you couldn't combine a niche, but you may have to place it under a single heading such as 'Health' etc.?

It makes sense that you run a store of ideas that offer multiple options for purchase, hinging off a common idea. This way you can create a content rich site organized in page after page information guiding your customer to the purchase of their needs.

So guys, how about holistic/natural practices and spirituality, nutrition and fitness? I find them all connected to the main "How to improve your life" theme.. should I just start with one and then broaden my topics as I get some recurring traffic or "loyal readers"?
And if so, how about the name of the website, since we are asked to create a pertinent name to our niche.. but if later on you add more, it might start to sound limiting? Did you change the name of your website or created a whole new one with all you niches? And if so, how did that affect your existing traffic and audience?
Just curious to hear your stories. Thanks!

It is a very broad theme. Of course, you can choose a name for website, which will let you to fit all your above wanted topics. Here in WA you can have 25 websites. It is plenty for your niches. At first is advisable to master one and latter go with another website. Good luck, Nemira.

I'd divide up the broad niche into the 3 different groups and go with just one Ambra. You can add the other 2 in later.

That's good to know guys, thank you. I think I finally chose what I'm gonna do. Thanks again!

Hi Garrett. I'm with Trialynn on this. The niches you mention do connect. But they can also be stand alone as there is a lot of info and work involved with them all individually, never mind collectively. Go with one niche and build it up with plenty of blogs/info.Then expand out to include the others.

I suggest this as, imagine a visitor coming to your site. They may/may not be interested in all these topics. (I would!) But then would you like to write night and day keeping up with the blogs of 3 "different" topics to keep everyone happy? Keeping all that info up to date as well?

You'd have to think about your email list, if you have 1 or 3. Imagined scenario - If I want to only know about exercise, will you send me emails about nutrition? After all I may not bother reading those. Or will you have separate autoresponder series to go out?

The answer may be yes. Me - I'm thinking "wow a l-o-t of writing and work". I know many people do cover all of these on one site. I wonder though if they do all the writing/upkeep of the site, or someone else does. If they do, it may have taken years of 80 hour weeks or so to build it up.

You will have a lot more to write about, so you'll never run out of ideas and perhaps more affiliate products in different areas to offer.

Nothing wrong with doing all 3 at once, and I see you've been here a few months. If you feel ready to do it and can keep them all up to date info wise, etc.- go for it. It really is what you are comfortable with and what you know for sure you will keep doing, once you start.

I have Holistic Health And Wellness, and I have included body, soul and human spirit. One could use each of these as its own niche, but I used them that way because we were created as three part beings, just like God is a three in one personality: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. So, these niches are very inter-related and I used them all together. I hope that helps. Ms Terry Ash

Build up authority in a niche, then you can introduce supportive products. If you start out with different niches, it will take longer to establish what you are an authority in.
I am not saying it cannot be done, I am simply suggesting a better way for it to be incorporated.

My thing is finding something that I am familiar with. I keep hearing niches about weight loss and dating, but honestly, I never tried any of the products or diet plans to be able to give a good honest review. I have never used dating sites before either. Do I really need to have experience with a product to be able to sell it? Or should I read different customer reviews and form one from them? As of right now, my main page started with bowling gear and I can see so many different things that I can recommend, thus the title of my page, mybestrecommendation.com. Maybe I am getting too far ahead of myself to promote many different things at one time, I dunno. But I feel like I can make it work. Even though this is true, I also feel I need to find something that helps me make money so I can get started with an authority page or a page that offers many different things.

what about using niches that are not connected?

You want to keep a site to related topics. If they are not connected at all you are better off having a second site.

You want to make sure they are relatable. For example a site about cars and fitness would be better off as 2 separate ones. Having one about health and fitness would work because those 2 go hand in hand almost always.

Yeah, I would agree with CliffMP. You can combine all that you said onto one website because they are do go together.

Thanks skyhorse. I appriciate your insight

Hey stranger, where have you been hiding?

He Gready... that depends... your example "fitness, health, nutrition, exercise" are really not (and wouldn't be looked upon by Google) as separate niches.

Because they are so connected... the keywords would be one big LSI party. LSI ='s related keywords.... But....

If you had a piano teaching niche and a cooking niche on one site.... THAT..... would be a problem for all sorts of things...

So, if the niches are 'connected', you would/should be fine.

best of luck

Cliff

Thanks Cliff!!
