You've Got To Build An Audience!

You know what? When I first started in affiliate marketing, (which was right here at WA), I had a totally different outlook on my new found online business. I would build my website, fill it with blogs, get Google ratings out of this world, slap my affiliate links on the pages and be off to the bank.

Well, I built my website and blogged away at it. Did the reviews and started getting traffic. It wasn't quick, but then again, I'm not too quick, so... And if you've read my previous blogs I started making money. I'm still making an average passive income each month of around $1,000. And then I've got my one time only sales on top of that.

But I've learned two things for sure. If you want to retire from that 9 to 5, you need to go after the passive income. If your a newbie and don't know what I mean it's: when you make one sale but you get paid each month. EX: If I sold you a membership to WA, I only had to sell it to you once, but as long as you're a member, I get paid each month that you make a payment. Then you just make lots and lots of those kind of sales and it builds up.

The second thing I learned, was you need to build an audience. Yes, you can make money like I am right now without one, but, to really go far and to be able to make that jump from three to four figures a month to five figures a month, you need an audience. That's when you really start seeing results.

There are different ways of building an audience. One way, which is your gold, is an email list. That's what's going to be your ticket down the road to retirement. That email list is your ticket to paradise. As soon as you can get an opt-in on your website, do it!

Another way to build your audience is with social media. Facebook, Facebook Group, Instagram, YouTube, etc. And actually, the bottom line is, still, email list, because that's where they all end up in the end. Or at least that's where you want them.

Now, just having an audience or an email list is not going to make you money. There are steps to take and things to do to get to that point, and I'll get more into that area on upcoming blogs. Once your list is matured, and you've done things correctly, you should average $1 a month for every name on your list. 100 names, $100 a month. 1,000 names; $1,000 a month. etc. So, as you can see, your focus should be on getting that list built. Once a name is on your list, it's no longer a cold lead, but a warm lead. You know they are somewhat interested in what you've got at that point.

Once you have your own audience, things get a bit easier. They grow to know you, to trust you and it's much easier to sell to people that trust you.

My Facebook Group has helped my list grow immensely and at the same time I get to help others get to the same point I am, that are a few steps behind me. And at the same time, I have members who are way ahead of me that I can learn from. Very much as it is here in WA.

So, start focusing on building your email list, no matter how slowly, and down the road you'll be thanking me. I hope this helps you in some way, and I always welcome questions and suggestions. I'll be blogging more on building and nurturing your audience in the near future.
