Hello all! Let's continue our search for ways to fight procrastination!

7) Set Aside a Time When You Will Have No Interruptions

This will go hand in hand with doing away with distractions. If you're working in an office with other people, try to schedule a time where you'll be least interrupted by a co-worker. Even if it's a short period of time. While they're on break or lunch. It will be different for everyone depending on their surroundings.

If you're working from home, maybe choose a time when the kids are napping, or the wife has gone to the grocery, or husband is running errands. Again shut off the phone so you get no phone calls.

You'll know what's the best time of day for the least amount of interruptions, so plan accordingly.

8) Treat Yourself

Reward yourself for completing different tasks or goals, regardless how small. It could be something as small as grabbing a snack when you finish a task. Find ways to incentivize yourself through the day whether it's checking your email for ten minutes or in my case, an ice cream break!

9) Try The "Under 10-Minutes Rule"

If you have a task that can be completed under ten minutes, take care of it right away and move on. If you don't then they get bigger and bigger throughout the day as you put too much thought into them.

Also, you're more likely to get results when a task is done immediately. The small tasks are what you'll tend to push off saying you'll get to it later, but later never comes. This way, your small tasks are done right away, and if you're using a "done list", it's growing quite fast which in turns motivates you to continue.

Well, there's three more weapons for your battle with procrastination. Hope this helps in someway. I'll continue the series with the next blog.

Take Action!

I think I am overdoing it ... point 8 ... lol.
Keep it coming, Grant and all the best.

I like the idea of rewards. :) The ways I procrastinate are getting other things done around the house. Once I'm past that, I'm golden.
