So, let's continue with some more ideas that may help against procrastination.

4) Remove Distractions Before Working

To get a jump start on procrastinating, remove anything that might distract you while you work. It may be different for each of you. I close my email tab. I shut off my Facebook notifications. In fact, I shut off all notifications from any Social Media. It's waaay to easy to get sidetracked, especially if you have a private group that you monitor. I even turn the sound off on my phone and lay it face down so I can't see the screen or leave it in a different room. (I have it set up to ring if i get a call from my kids or wife in case there's an emergency)

By taking these steps, you lessen the chance of procrastination.

5) Figure Out Your Peak Time Of The Day

You'll find that people who get insanely amounts of work or tasks done each day have found their peak time of the day that they are the most productive. Then they make sure they are "distraction free" during that time pocket. Being a musician all my life, I'm not a morning person. So, I find that late night is my best time. I can stay focused a lot better. It's actually 10:40pm as I write this. I have colleagues that get up at 4:30am and are at their desk pounding the keys by 5:00am. Just find your "productivity pocket" and take advantage.

6) Start A "Done List"

You already know about the "to-do list". You check off the things that you've finished as you go. This is a great feeling! At the end of the day, however, you tend to notice the things on your list that you didn't accomplish rather than the ones you checked off. This is a "low" feeling.

Thus, the "Done List". You add to this seperate list as you finish a task. At the end of the day, you'll see all that you have accomplished and the progress you've made rather than what you didn't do. You'll end the day with that sense of accomplishment we all crave and look forward to doing it the next day!

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog and I hope it helps you along the way in your fight against procrastination.

Watch for my next blog as we continue looking at more ideas.

Take Action!

Keep it coming Grant. It is something the majority are prone to, and many don't ever try to fight it.
