Welcome to the second blog in our series! Here's today's tips.

3) For Your Text and Backgrounds, Use Easy-To-Read Colors

You may have certain colors that you use for your website as far as your branding goes and you may want to incorporate them into your background. However, make sure the text that you use over it is readable. You'll want the text color to contrast the color in the background.

If your background is black then use white as your text, or a light color and vice versa. However, DO NOT use a pure black or a pure white. Pure black has 0% color brightness. Pure white has 100% color brightness. It has been proven that the contrast between them leads to eye strain for the reader.

So, use a dark gray for background or text, rather than black, especially for paragraph text.

4) Choose the Correct Fonts For Your Blog

As far as throughout your blog, don't use a lot of different fonts. I would suggest no more than two and at the most, three. I generally use one.

I know there are countless choices of fonts that you can use. Over the years, though, it pretty much comes down to two that are the most popular; Serif and Sans Serif.

Serif has been around longer and was generally always found in medium like newspapers or books. So, it was used more if you wanted that professional look.

But, these days, sans serif, is more popular and has the more modern look and is easier to read. You'll be fine using either.

Hopefully, these little tips will help you and the overall appearance of your blog, thus making it more readable for your visitors.

Until next time...Take Action!

Nice.

Hadn't thought about the stark contrast and eye strain Grant. Useful information, thank you.
I prefer the Sans Serif too.
