Are You Providing Value?

Hello all!

I see one mistake a lot of beginners in affiliate marketing make is, they grab that affiliate link and start throwing it out there in front of everyone and sending emails pushing the affiliate link down peoples throats, but they've never heard of you or know what you're about.

This is the fastest way to kill your business before you even start, and believe me, I know. I was a beginner and actually will always consider myself a beginner, because you never quit learning, (or at least, you shouldn't) I made lots of mistakes, even while I was training here in WA. Why? Because I was impatient. I was in a hurry to make money. I NEEDED to make money. But, I didn't realize by going about it the way I was, I was pushing results farther and farther away.

Russell Brunson and Stephen Larson, (of ClickFunnels fame), finally pounded into my head that you HAVE to give value. You have to establish that you do know what you're talking about, that you make recommendations people can trust. You MUST build trust with your audience. Offer value in any way you can.

And to do this, you need to PUBLISH. Publish daily. Pick what you're comfortable with and publish. If you enjoy writing, then do it through blogging. I blog here, I also have a website where I blog and do reviews (like most of you), and blog on a platform called Medium. Also, on Article Ezines. You cannot publish too much.

If you enjoy talking, then do podcasts, Facebook Lives, YouTube videos. Do one, or a couple or choose them all! I'm slowly working my way into all of them. I'm not big on speaking live, but this year, I'm making myself do it. It gets easier each time. And I'm doing it because I know I'm publishing in another venue which opens up more people seeing what I do and have to offer, which in turn, build their trust in me.

Success is never owned. It is rented and the rent is due every day.

You may think, I'm just starting. How can I help anyone else? Well, the fact that you're even reading this is already proof you know more than 90% of the people out there. You can help those by pulling them up the ladder behind you, that you have climbed so far. Other folks, ahead of you are pulling you up the ladder, also. In the affiliate marketing world, there are a lot of us out here that love to help, want to see others be successful and will give a lot of free help to get them there. You just need to find them. I like to think I am one of those people.

So, I send out emails, with tips and info that teaches and educates my audience. I do the same with my blogs, and podcasts. I'm constantly offering value. THEN, I start slipping in affiliate links here and there. (Also, I don't recommend any services or products that I haven't personally tried or thoroughly checked out with people that DO use the product).

Hi Grant, good to see you and refreshing I must say to read a post sharing value.

I think the thing that separates offline and online business is that sense of giving without selling, offline we are focused solely on that sale.

We don't know what we can do until we try, I like your idea of just pushing to achieve.

Yes, it's all about offering value and becoming a trusted authority so that when you do recommend products that you own and/or believe in, your recommendation will in turn be trusted.
