Royalty Free Pictures

Last Update: December 19, 2015

Well, here you go folks. Here is my directory of royalty free pictures and images.

Update: I just spotted this training on using Chrome to find free images;
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/setting-a-chrome-browser-to-show-free-images/page-one

Have fun !!!

http://www.morguefile.com/archive I was able to download free images without signing up at MorgueFile.

https://www.flickr.com/commons Big collection of public domain images at Flickr.

http://dealjumbo.com/freebies-for-you/ Free editing effects at DealJumbo.

http://allthefreestock.com/ Free images and videos at AllTheFreeStock.

https://picjumbo.com/ Free photos without subscribing at PicJumbo.

http://www.freedigitalphotos.net/ Big collection of free photos at FreeDigitalPhotos.

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_Page The gold standard for free images is at Wikimedia.

http://deathtothestockphoto.com/about/ An interesting concept. Sign up with your email address and you get a monthly email of images to use. Any cost is if you want access to their archives then you have to subscribe to their premium service at DeathToTheStockPhoto. Hey, that was pretty cool. I signed up with my email address and they gave me a free bonus. It was a download link. I didn't know what it was all about so I clicked on the link. They gave me 10 free images immediately. How cool is that !!!

https://unsplash.com/ This is another email sign up. You get images every 10 days from Unsplash.

https://pixabay.com/ Here is another source of images at Pixabay.

Oops, forgot to add this one too ... http://freeimages.siterubix.com/

Hey grampamike I have a question totally off the WA subject. I know you live in Washington state as I do too. Wondering if you are having any fires in your area. Hope not and hope you are doing well. I live in an area where there has been fires all around, but so far I and my family are safe. I have a grandson who is one of the worst places, but he is safe too. Take care. :)
Reply
grampamike Premium
I live in Western Washington now. We have some small fires but nothing like Eastern Washington. I heard Omak is getting blasted good now.

I'm from Wenatchee originally so I know the area. Looks like the bulk of the fires are in Okanogan county. Here's a map;
http://www.kirotv.com/Wolverine-Chelan-Complex-fires
Just use your mouse wheel to enlarge the map.

Here's a couple of reports from ABC;
http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/latest-washington-state-seeks-volunteers-fires-33227621
http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/easing-winds-predicted-raging-washington-wildfires-33244488

Here is a report from the Yakima Herald. Guess a state of emergency has been declared by the Feds.
http://www.yakimaherald.com/news/state_news/obama-declares-emergency-as-fires-burn-unabated-around-state/article_3bf213b6-4897-11e5-a9f4-9f623c13668a.html

The sun is a dazzling bright orange over here at sunrise and sunset due to the smoke.

Resources are so short that they are accepting any volunteer fire fighters they can get. Even from New Zealand !!!

I'm not sure but I think I heard there was a run on graham crackers, marshmallows, and Hershey bars. Hot dogs are in short supply too. Just kidding.

It's pretty serious but we go through this every so many years in the last 50 years.

Take care.

Yep, I have lived most of my life in Okanogan County. Just moved closer to family in Stevens County now. I am saddened for folks and family that I know who are still in Twisp. I lived in the Methow Valley 40 some years. My family who are there are all safe I'm glad to say.
Just moved from the Omak area two months ago. There are fires here where I'm at now as well, getting a lot of smoke.
I'm originally from Kent. I remember the rain from that side of the mountains.
Thanks for the links. I will check them out.
Take care,
Judy

Hey dude, how ya doin'. Long time no hear. Hope all is well with ya.

I know folks ask about images so I thought it was time for a picture portal. One less question to have to answer over and over.

I found your recommendation for A Small Orange. Big smooch on the cheek for that, LOL.

I always like to have a back up plan just in case. I have too much effort invested in my websites.

Someday you will have to teach me about cPanel. Not sure I really want to know.

Geez, I had to use FTP with FireZilla the other day. Wow, I haven't had to play with FTP since 2004. Getting old ya know. Rather leave this stuff to a young, feminine, good looking IT person.

Someone asked me about changing fonts on their site. They were trying to mess with a plug in that changes fonts but with minimal success. I though I'd run an experiment so I drafted 3 phrases in 3 different fonts in my word processor (Microsoft Word), copied/pasted into my WordPress editor and taa daaa, 3 different fonts were rendered. Kinda cool. The notion of messing with fonts wasn't exactly on my mind these days. Oh oh, another cool flair for my websites. Yikes, more time editing. Will the work never cease.

Gotta run,

Hey, I just noticed A Small Orange has an affiliate program. If you are an affiliate then let me know. If I set up an account then I will use your link.

Let me know the URL you want me to use.

May sunshine always shine on your tomatoes.

Greetings GrampaMike!

I use a plugin to make my editing life easier - columns, shortcodes, image maps, all the specialty fonts Google offers, and about a zillion other features - many of which I haven't even played with. It's called WP Edit, and comes in both a free and a Pro version.

I'm liking it ;)

Just sent a PM GrampaMike.

I know WA frowns on having affiliate links floating around, so sent it that way instead. Affiliate links aside, they have been great to deal with.

Thanks for asking :)

That's good to know. I can't move my NFL pool site to WA because I haven't figured out how to put in columns or grids. It's just a family pool but I have 13 grid columns and WordPress so far isn't real happy with it.

I will look in to WP Edddit.

See you at the saloon.

FYI GrampaMike-

"Unrestrictedstock.com is a new breed of online stock image, video and vector resources. All of their stock is royalty free and available for use at no cost. http://unrestrictedstock.com/" was doubled up in the addendum.

Thanks for the update - and the notice it was there to review!

Unrestricted stock is doubled up? I searched and couldn't find it. Are you wearing your double vision glasses again? Been to the pub?

Just kidding.

Thanx for heads up. I took out the duplicate. I wondered why it was taking so long to write that blog, LOL.

Shoot. The duplicate link made my portal look bigger.
