I wonder if any of you guys can help me out with something. I have been looking for products to review negatively so that I can promote WA as a better way to make money online -

Actually Empower Network has threaten legal action against me for a video I put up on YouTube. You can see the letter here: http://imperfectstart.com/can-empower-network-actually-sue-me

As long as you are honest about the product that you are reviewing, there are not grounds for a suit unless you actually slander them.

Honest negative reviews are done all the time.

I get people saying going to sue me all time. 99.99% of time it is a bluff. The ones to worry about ones do not say it but talking to there lawyers instead.

well yeah I suppose it would work like that - any tips on what NOT to say ?

As long as what you say is true got nothing to worry about. Yo doing them a favor letting them know what is wrong.

I wrote a negative review about a big MLM company who's lawyers attempted to get my site taken down a couple times. Just intimidation was all it came down to.

Right - interesting! - Thanks for that Steve. Would you be able to share a link with me so I can assess whether the review you did is directly relevant to what I am planning to do ?

Look in the "Review" section and you can see how I do reviews.
http://firemyboss.net/

thanks Steve - I'll check it out

Great question Graham! Have to go with Robert on that one...not to my knowledge too. Wouldn't it be really sad though to get sued for writing a great review that is true, yet only downside is it's a negative review or report...

I haven't seen or heard of any happenings like that...

Best as always,
Keane:)

Thanks Keane

Its not a great strategy unless you have had real experience with the products you want to give a negative review of
When I read one of Nathaniel's reviews on a product that brought me here, he actually purchased the product then gave his honest opinion of what he got, so he was telling exactly what he got got for his money, which was not a lot
Negative reviews only work when you have some real facts to give not just opinions on what you think it negative about the product

Barry

Hi Barry - the niche I am planning to attract people to WA from is something I have a lot of experience with - It makes a lot of money from people and definitely doesn't give good value for money.

As I am doing this to make money being sued would be kinda counter productive.

I just feel that people will likely get very defensive when their income stream is threatened and I wondered what experience other people had had with such issues.

Graham

The majority of my product reviews are negative and they also bring the majority of the traffic to my site. I think people are surprised many times to see that someone would take the time to write a review about a product they do NOT recommend.
I have had people (outside of WA) genuinely thank me for the heads-up about a bad product.
I've also had fans of those programs insult me that's OK. I'm a big boy and I can handle a little name calling. Especially when it adds content to my site:)

Then you would be doing a great service to people if you do it, as far as I know there is nothing legally they can do as we are free to write what ever we want unless it breaks the law, as in is abusive or threatening as far a negative reviews go, then I believe it is not only legal but adding value to people, so I wish you good luck with it

Barry

Hey Barry,
I definitely take my time to research so I'm not "fudging" my information. I usually make it clear that some of what I write is MY opinion and that the reader should do their due diligence.

an interesting perspective - thanks

Not that I know of.

thanks for that Robert - can you expand on that for me - what sort of things have you seen people do ?

I am finding that the WA keyword tool is giving very different results to when I use the same key words in google.

Can anyone shed any light on this ?

Are you using the QSR, quoted search results? Keyword tool uses this and searches for "the thing I am searching for", google you probably type the thing I am searching for the results are pretty different.

OK could you explain to me the difference between QSR and the results thrown up in google then - sorry I don't understand !

When you type a keyword phrase in the Google search bar, you are seeing the number of pages that have those words somewhere on that page. They may not even be together in the same sentence.
When you put quotes around the phrase, you are seeing how many pages are optimized for that phrase.
Then, if you scroll to the bottom of the page and make sure you are on the last page, then you will see the true number of competing pages.

Thanks Steve - very helpful :-)

Very nice. Wasn't sure if I explained that adequately.

How many wealthy affiliate students have earned one million dollars or more through their on-line marketing campaigns

I think you ask an excellent question and I think most people will avoid giving you the answer
I want to become an online ,millionaire I have not achieved this yet but my focus is on creating a massively profitable business and not blogging here on WA
The owners of this site will be very rich and I want to become very rich also online
I believe in having big dreams not mediocre ones
Mediocre expectations will produce mediocre results so I must dream big
I have not come here to learn about online ethics or morality, I have come here to obtain a profitable business and have a life of my dreams

Barry

Thank you Babyboy247 - I agree - ya gotta have vision!

One of the things that makes WA different is the fact that they don't use hype and promises of big bucks.
There are lots of other programs out there that throw big numbers around and use screen shots of huge earnings with Clickbank.
I like the fact the fact that WA does NOT do this. I'm sure of the other members here feel the same way.

Well Steve we are all turned off by people who insult out intelligence by over hyping stuff so I know where you are coming from. I agree this site doesn't do that and that is one of the great things about it :-)

I like the question and am surprised at the answers, as if it wasn't a valued question. I don't believe this is stated as your focus, just a question. If one is earning $100,000 per year, they would have that amount in 10 years. This amount of money per year is not out of the ordinary these days. If you were applying for a job it is a valid question. If you were applying for a business loan to start a business, the lender would want to see expected revenue of your impending business.

Thank you for for answer MagicMargie - I was starting to feel like I had just asked the the question that everyone knows not to ask :-) It does seem like a valid question to me especially in light of the key words that I felt it was relevant to. Also WA is talking about $22,398 per month here https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/share which would get you to $1m in 4 years surly those earning would motivate a lot of people to subscribe !

Good or Bad LOL - I've been around long enough I know people that have earned tons of money. Nothing is free, you still need to work for it, it dosen't just fall in your lap (well maybe some peoples lap) but certainly is possible, just have to "pay your dues" or another way to say it, work, work, work.

great points MagicMargie ..... and thanks for getting where I am coming from with this question :-)

I really doubt there is many people earning that amount of money from their online marketing campaigns (20k plus), especially not within WA. The most I have EVER made in one month via my online marketing campaigns is just over 30k. I have had a few 25k plus months, but most of my months sat around the 20k mark. I can tell you this was not an easy feat to accomplish, and took me at least a year to get to that point. Also I was not able to maintain it. I only make a fraction of that now, however that is the goal I am back to chasing, to get back up to earning 20k plus per month.

Thanks for the input Corey -much appreciated - You have had some fantastic months - very impressive - thanks for sharing that info ! - so if you don't mind me asking what is a regular month for you these days - or would you prefer to me to PM you ?

I'm not prepared to disclose that information ;) by PM or otherwise.

no problem - I understand :-)

I don't think the focus should be on earnings of individuals but on the education and support that is given when you become a member. When one is starting out the high earnings seem far out of reach and can be demotivating.

the education and support is fantastic - this site seems to give what so many sites promise but don't deliver on - however - with respect - my question is valid for the purpose I ask it as such stats would be a useful addition (not the main driver of the campaign) for one of the niches that I am exploring :-)

Fair enough.

Fair enough. I see your point.

A lot of people might tell you that they haven't but those that have are unlikely to tell you. :) Beverley

That is fair comment BIS however, I feel that an idea of numbers would seriously help with my promotion of WA as earning $1m is such a powerful hook and marketing tool :-)

You will never be in the position where you could verify it as a fact and therefore they would always be suspect figures. I wouldn't use that sort of technique to try and attract people to WA. :) Beverley

You are right Beverly however WA could confirm how many people it has paid $1m referral fees to and that would be a powerful marketing hook for the specific niche I am thinking of. It would also be a very powerful motivator for me going forward :-)

That sounds like a list the IRS would like to see......

ROTFL Hell Yeah!
