Having built a new website and then "Moving" it over to an existing website, will the new content overwrite the existing content?
Hey Gordon,
If you do the transferring of your website from one domain to another, the backup plugin I use to transfer ALL of the content, makes ALL of the changes to your internal links for you: The Easiest Way to Move Your Site to Wealthy Affiliate If SiteSupport moves your SiteRubix site to your purchased domain name from WA, then they do all of that for you.
Then, they will tell you to LEAVE the SiteRubix in place for at least 30 days so the search engine spidering software will see that you have moved your content to a new site.
Am sure that SiteSupport would tell you this too, but in case someone reads this and attempts this on their own... once you have had your content transferred from SiteRubix to your NEW domain, go back into your SiteRubix site dashboard to the Settings > Reading and look for Search Engine Visibility, then DO check mark that to Discourage search engines from indexing this site.... for obvious reasons.
Hope you find this helpful.
Hi yes totally.
However,
I would back it up, you can use AIO WP Migration or Updraft plugins. UpdraftPlus is a premium and highly recommended.
I would then delete destination site.
And then do the move.

If I were to build a website using siterubix free domain are there any restrictions as to what I can do and can't do?
Besides the obvious no-no Gordon, they sky is the limit.
You may find this post encouraging: Siterubix sites can get traffic. Boy can they get traffic. Hope this helps you.

How easy is it to transfer a Domain name and could it be done here at WA?
It's very easy, especially if you follow the steps methodically.
This post will also help :-) Tips On How To Transfer A Domain Name
Thanks Chrystopher, I may have been a bit vague in the question.
The domain is hosted and registered here at WA and I am wanting to maybe give the website it is attached to away to any member that may want to take it on. So I was wondering about just transferring the domain over to whoever it may be
If you mean as in a sale (selling/transferring ownership), depending on the domains TLD, this is also quite simple, however, some Registrars, such as Nominet, who control .UK domains, they charge £10 to transfer ownership.
