Coding and Me Just Don't Mix

I just spent a day and a half trying to get a Table of Content to work properly, I mean like I want to click on the heading and go straight to the content that it relates to, I don't want to click on the heading and be taken to my homepage in a new window.

So here I have this folder with website codes in. When I come across training that I think will be useful in the future, away it goes into that folder.

So I knew I had the codes for jump links and that is what I needed to use to make this thing work properly. Knowing me I thought I remembered how to implement the coding and bish bash bosh that would be it. Yeah Right.

So after struggling to put the coding in the right place, first of it wouldn't scroll down the the said content and also opened up my home page in a new window.

Frustration beginning to set in I decided to ask the community.

I immediately (well nearly immediately) got answers back from the Queens of coding Loes and Marion.

Both gave me implicit instruction and I thank you ladies. so after watching Marions Video training and digesting Loes's instructions off I go and try to sort this out.

By the way I also wanted to add a "Back to the top" button.

So after a couple more hours of trying to code this in plus late in the evening PM's with Loes, I finally gave up for the night to come back fresh in the morning.

Morning arrives and I am as fresh as a daisy and thought I'm going to crack this today if it kills me,

I watched Marions video again and followed it step by step pausing to implement the steps as she spoke.

3 Times I watched the vidoe and 3 times I started from the beginning.

Third time lucky all the links worked.

Now for the button.

Again I followed Loes's instructions copied and pasted her coding, no luck.

I am staring at the text on my screen going through each line with full concentration and I suddenly noticed that i had duplicate symbols in all the button coding.

Deleting one set of symbols I updated and went into view page with abated breath.

Clicked on all the Table links, they were still working, now for the big one will the back to the top button take me back to the top.

Eeeuuurrreekkkaaa!!! it all works...

Whenever you decide to code just make sure you have every part of the code correct.

It is a nightmare if you haven't got a clue what you are doing.
