Rank 5 on Bing!?
Ok, so I decide to check out things on my Bing dashboard, to see how things are coming along since I submitted my sitemaps last week. Wasn't expecting much, being new sites needing to be indexed /crawled.
I start with the dashboard for a site that I had setup as an experiment when I started out 3 months ago, only have a couple of blogs on there right now.
What is going on, I actually have graphs with bumps on them already, interesting, lets take a closer look.
Search impressions?? No way, must be a glitch. I dig a bit deeper, see what keywords were searched, what type of impressions. One of them ranked at 5, another 20, no clicks though, but rank 5!? I need to see this, it can't be already, not for that blog.
Sure enough , there it is, Page 1, actually now at 4th place down after the first 3 from the official site results for the same keywords/company product that I reviewed, then my site. Up there with the big players out of 2,960,000 results, at number 4, one more boost and could have claimed a Bronze medal.
So now I'm curious to see who I beat out on the quest to the front, OK some interesting sites, below me are stylecaster.com, then yahoo.com/tech, youtube lists, hollywoodlife, then, hey wait, that is my site again, at rank 9!
So I'm really not sure how this came about. I am sure to continue watching how this all pans out, I am thinking that it may some type of glitch. If not I'll be sure to look at how this combination of keywords have brought me up so quick for a site that only has a 4-5 blogs. Granted it still did not even produce any CTR, but it has provided me a boost of confidence.
Similarly i have checked out my Google search Console and Jaaxy and my main site is starting to move up the ranks with a number of my keywords. The closest I've seen so far is at rank 20 on Google, still not on first page but getting there.
Kyle and Carson are on the mark when they say how long it takes and how many blogs it takes to get your site ranked on first page of Google search. I am 3 months in with 26 blogs, another 3 months should get me to my 50-60 blogs, plus with much more insight on how all this stuff works I am sure I will make it to page 1!
