Google Plus Goal 2016
One of the goals I created for myself this year is to get to 2000 followers on Google+
I already met my goal of 1500 earlier this year...so I upped it to 2000.
I am now up to 1846 followers and feel like I am on track of meeting my goal.

Everyday I have been diligent in following others in hopes of them to follow me back. At the same time I am learning from the various styles and approaches people use on social media.
So don't forget, during your training, when you get to the point to create your G+ account, don't just skip it. It can help you in the long run.
As Kyle would say...your building your foundation..every part you link with your website is another brick to build your business.

I did set up a Google Plus page. Sadly, I haven't been diligent in building a bigger following for my page, and... you're right. We should.
Every so often, when I share a post on my Google Plus page, it does result in page one ranking on Google, so I know it works. However, with such a small following, I also know I'm wasting my efforts on such a small audience. But i also know it will be built in time. It's one of my goals for early 2017.

It was just one of my goals. I do want to build on more popular social sites but as you noted it does help to rank your posts on the first page. It's all cumulative, get a few clicks from G=, FB, Twitter, Pinterest, Reddit Flipboard etc... As we start showing we can be trusted and provide information people want I can see how those few people will share, and they tell 2 friends and they tell 2 friends...I remember a shampoo commercial or something with that jingle.

As I noted for Hal, it's not a huge number and Google + is probably one of the lesser used social medias out there...but Google rewards you for using it and seeing that trends always change, wouldn't hurt to be on the front of the wave when/if G+ suddenly becomes the social media leader.
