Success...1600 G+ followers!

I was actually going to do a success blog about this once I reached 1500 but I was over the 1500 before I noticed so I decided to make the new goal 1600.

You likely have already went through the G+ training part but thought I would show you some quick examples of how G+ can help you get organic traffic.

Google likes to promote its own stuff so it is only natural that they will rank G+ posts higher up on search results. They will actually rank your post up in the top 10 plus add the logo beside the search result as shown in the examples below.

Keep in mind that these results will likely only show up if you are following that person on G+ and they happen to have a post about that subject on there G+ page.

The coolest thing is that even though my post may only rank on the 2nd, 3rd or further page, G+ will still add your G+ link on the first page and having the logo beside it just adds that extra eye candy to pull people in close enough to click.

Here is one example of a broad keyword for a post from a fellow WA member that I follow on G+ https://plus.google.com/116316956065067338377. Here she is in 3rd spot just below related images. Outranking the Youtube video.

Here is a result for one of my own blogs showing up on Page 1, 7th, spot, 3 spots ahead of the youtube video for a very competitive keyword.

Again these results will only show up if you are following the authors on G+.

So I see this opportunity to be similar to having a mailing list as people come and go from WA they may continue to follow you forever and when they search for something in the future they may just stumble upon your G+ post.

Now I'm not saying to go all out and to get thousands of followers no matter what it takes. You have to remember that G+ is a Google social site and they may change it or close up shop at a moments notice.

So don't put your eggs all in one basket, although there are advantages it certainly isn't the only game in town.

Give it whirl for one of your own blogs or another WA member's posted on G+ and see what type of results you see.
