Wealthy Affiliate Should Install Sign Up Username Filter
When you're serious about something, you will think of the best username to use. Like for example, if you're a lady and you're name is Angela, you'll probably choose "SweetAngel" as your username here.
If you're serious, you won't use "krakatongkratong666", right?
As beautiful as possible, as sweet as possible, and as helpful-sounding as possible.
The proper choice of username is the first criteria that a person is serious in joining Wealthy Affiliate.
So, if the system here detects that a person (it doesn't matter if it is in United States, Philippines, China or India, as it showed people from all places of the world are gaming this system and not only Philippines), if the system detects a person just want to game the system not really serious about joining, then the system should block him out right.
I was staring at my referral list and thought what if we have that system in place?
Is that possible? So that we can minimize "not serious" people from joining in?
I still laughing at how beautiful the usernames of my referrals are... 100+ referrals with usernames like krgozraitstong123. lol
How can we make Wealthy Affiliate's system screen out people better?
Can we have a system here that will warn people registering...
"Warning: Your username sounds like a bot. Please choose a better one to continue your registration."
Something like that.
Thinking deeply,

Well, I have plenty of good ideas...but I am saving most of them for my own business and website....
Thanks!

Excellent idea Gomer!
We need to get this done.
People will chose a more 'user' friendly name
if the nonsense names are not permitted.
I'm with you on this my friend.
Whenever I've asked about conversion rates (people going premium), I always get the answer of how did you get your referrals and what is your review/guide telling people or not telling people that's getting you lower conversion rates.
Therefore, you may look at how you're getting your referrals and if they really understood what they were joining based on the information they read from your site or whatever you used.
I don't know if you can judge a quality referral from another by just their username though. :) (don't judge a book by its cover?)
Are you sharing blog posts of other members here to social media sites? Like getting your affiliate link for that blog post and sharing to Twitter or Facebook? Can you share to us what results are you getting from that activity?
There's a tip from Kyle that we can get referrals from sharing the blog posts of our fellow members by grabbing your affiliate link for that blog post and sharing it on the web. So, how's that with you? Do you mean to say, we should stop following that instruction because that does not convert well?
Of course that is in the training and you will get some referrals here that way, and heck, I even got my first Premium that way.
But if you're doing this long term and want to improve your conversion rate, you must bring in referrals through your review posts on your site.
If it's not converting, then change your method. What's the point of a line of blue men on your referral list if you can't convert them?
Usernames are about the individual and possibly have meaning to them. Like my username has meaning to me. WA is made up of individuals who are all different.
Dhind1 is a beautiful sounding username, far from asdf4321 and qwerty123456789. It's the usernames that look like the person is just playing with his or her keyboard that we're going to block.
Interesting Coach but one may very well be blocking some who just like to be creative with their usernames:).
There are just somethings we will have to leave to human interaction.

Is it possible our fierce competitors like S*BI or MOB*E sending thousands of bots here with usernames "TheRevengers666"? lol
