Put the club down and step away.

I don't know about you but I can be a little self-critical...wait, mildly self-critical...okay seriously self-critical!

I've been working 66 hrs. a week as an electrician in a world-class tech facility to support our business...every once in a while things don't go as planned lol.

And with the help of Debbie I have caught myself wielding and using the coulda shoulda woulda club to beat myself up for not doing more here on WA.

However, I have a plan...do what I can when I can and help others do the same!

Do you have club that you beat yourself up with for not strictly adhering to your ridiculist (the impossible list you create for yourself)?

If you ask 100 people why they go to work everyday most will say, "because everyone goes to work!" I go to work so I can make a difference in the lives of others, period.

You don't have to look very far to see there is a huge need and gaping hole of fulfillment in most people's lives and it's because of a lack of self-defined purpose.

A friend once told me, "There's such a tremendous need to have Purpose as humans"

Well, he didn't actually say that verbatim, but that's what I heard and that's why I took some advise from a Facebook friend who told me to say to myself in a mirror daily...

"I Love You unconditionally," as many times as possible every single day.

If you happen to be carrying around a club like mine that you use often to beat yourself up for not completing your particular ridiculist on a daily basis...

Then feel free to comment on how we can come up with a game plan of how we can finally put down the club and walk away towards a healthier life of service.

I enjoyed your post very much Eric, thanks for sharing. Some reflections if we can take the folks around us on the journey with us the road is paved with gold, by the looks you and Debbie make an awesome team.
I guess we all go through that phase where we want everything to happen yesterday, the antidote is accepting that it is not going to happen, sitting down and making a plan that works for us.
The next step is to focus on our end games, so every step we are taking is leading us in that direction.

So true Alex. Seems like we've been conditioned to have a fast food mentality when it comes to just about everything

Oh yeah I know that club..... But I am lucky because my wife is working on this project with me. We battle the training, building and list together. We do have to talk each other out of using that club.
You are one person. A single person can only do so much in a day's time. Get done what you can and try not to stress about what you didn't get done. Good luck!

I work with my girlfriend Debbie together also, that's one of the greatest joys I can imagine having in one's work life. She keeps all our other business tasks moving along, I know I couldn't do it without her.

I use a vision board that I place in front of my pc. It reminds me that my to list is great to work on but my goals are long term. So, if I miss an item on my todo list, I simply move it to a new list but I keep the old list that has many items scratched off to remind me that many things did get done.

Thanks for your great post!

Excellent strategy and sounds like a great way to maintain a visual of what's been accomplished
