Would love to hear from some folks as to how long did it take them to become full time self-employed using the Wealthy Affiliate program from when they joined Wealthy Affiliate

Hi, Andy!

This is a question that comes up a lot here at WA! A lot of people come to WA to make their fortune. Certainly, it is achievable! I have been here since the summer of 2014. I have a healthy website that makes money every month. Can I retire on it, no! Do I want to retire, no! My website revolves around a niche that I love. I live it daily. So, my goal was not to retire but to increase my voice in my niche!

Here are two examples of how I am doing:

I was at an event a few weeks ago spending time with people who want to know more about the full time RV lifestyle. We had three days of seminars and social events. During one seminar a woman came up to me and told me how much she loves my website and my writing, and that it has helped her so much.

Now, what are the chances of that happening? Did WA help me to have a big voice in my niche? Absolutely!

Yesterday I got an email from one of the largest RV dealerships in the country asking me if I would be interested in putting a banner link on my website linking to their new parts and accessories online store. Did WA help me create a big voice in my niche? It's for certain!!

As I continue to work on this endeavor on a purely part-time basis, will it further develop into what could be a retirement income? Again, absolutely! But will I retire yet? No! I have lots to still accomplish.

Don't loose faith Andy. It takes time. We all come from different places in our experiences and expectations. I would say, work on yourself more than you work on your website and the desired results will come. Desire success, and then expect it, with every ounce of your being!

Hi Howard,

Good to hear from you.

Thanks to you as well for taking the time to give an in-depth reply.

The longer I spend working on my website the experience grows better and better.

As I was working here yesterday I was thinking that I would like to see some regular income by March 2018 (Started March 2016). By then not necessarily self-employed but certainly having a part time income with the goal of becoming full time self-employed.

And yes, pressing on...

PS - What a buzz when the big companies come chasing you. Thats a real win. Well done.

Sounds like a good plan, Andy!

Hey goinsong!
So the amount of time it takes depends on the hours you put in, really. It's like learning an instrument. The more hours I put into guitar, the smoother my playing will be and the better it will sound.

In a very simple explanation, making money with affiliate marketing using blogs or email lists etc. is done by people visiting your site and seeing that you have products to offer and buy them, or maybe other people are paying you to put their ads on your website.

The point is, you get money by having traffic (visitors). And what brings visitors? Content! And content (i.e. posts, pages...) takes time. Because with more posts comes more reviews or other ways to make money.

We use our content to make money.

So if you're putting in like 8 hours a day into building content on your website, and making it look like a credible and knowledgeable site, than you will be successful much faster than someone who is putting in 2 hours a day.
Actually 4X as much faster.

Hope this helps! Just put in the work, do research and success is inevitable!

Hey Drew,
Thanks for taking the time to have some input here. I like your equation of 2 hours a day vs 8 hours a day.

All the best for success.

Is there a way to change the paypal account linked to my account settings?

Same issue here, the answer i found is to cancel my membership and re sign up again, still not sure if its the right way to do so.

Ok. Thanks.

Couldn't find much info but this might help: Best.

Thanks Mac01. Couldn't see how to change the paypal account. May have to ask Kyle or Carson. There seems to be very little to no info on this topic.

No worries, maybe try asking this question in Live Chat, someone else bound to have done this before. Best

Ok. Thanks again.
