how do I stop AdSense from showing up on the home page of my religious website;

https://modernbibleinterpretationunderstandinghermeneutics.com/

Thanks for your h

Can’t you just block specific pages in Adsense?

That was what I just did sir. I just hope it will work out.

I had a similar issue and it worked fine
I hope it works for you.
Best of luck.

Marion Black created some very helpful tutorials on Adsense that you may gain an advantage from once you've gone through the following training. Hope you find this helpful.

thanks for the link ma. it did help.

Oh thanks, ma. I'll go through this training soon hopefully I'll get a solution to this ma. Thanks again.

control your ads with a plugin like ad inserter - then you get to choose where and what type of ads your site has....
thee amy be a page exclusion within your adsense account - don't bother with mine as they stopped placing ads and require authentication....

Ok, sir. thanks for your time.

the other way is to remove hte sidebar on the blog archive....under appearance>>customize you should be able to set up the layout of the blog archive...
the one at the bottom is another matter....

oh, thank you for helping Feigner. so grateful sir.

I can't answer that, but I did notice that the text above your WA banner in the sidebar has "experts" miss-spelled as "esperts".

You must have inserted your AdSense code somewhere dictated by your site's theme. You need to find that and remove it.

great observation sir, I should correct that right the way. thanks for the observation sir.

You're most welcome.

thanks for the link. it did help and was also informative.

each time I request google AdSense on my site: kcmakingmoney.com, I receive a message that my site goes against AdSense policy. I have tried all I can do with my non-techy brai

It's my understanding you have to have at least 1,000 visitors to be accepted by AdSense

If nothing applied from the your good responses from Diane and Abie seems to help, Google AdSense is not the end all be all.
Many are having the same issues as you so you are not alone. If you are not ready to handle AdSense it can be costly.

Hi, Godstrong, You have got some great answers from two very knowledgeable ladies. I am sure you will find the solution.

All the best,

Michael

Hi - at a quick glance, I can't see that you have an Affiliate Disclosure, which is not only a legal requirement but is also necessary for AdSense approval.

They would normally tell you why.

Hi Godstrong
I took a look.
I believe that both sites contain a lot of good to excellent content and should therefore be rankable by Google...
However...
The first thing that is instantly striking is that
modernbibleinterpretationunderstandinghermeneutics.com
takes an age to load. That needs to be sorted out.
Also, to put it bluntly, there are a lot of presentation problems that would put me off spending much time on your sites.

Please don't take that personally. You have the makings of some great content that needs to be presented in a way that invites people to stay... feel free to contact me by PM if you want more help with this.
:-)
Richard

Ok sir. That I'll do right the way.

Hello,
I took a quick look.
At first sight, I wouldn't put ads on the homepage, you can use the adinserter plugin to change that to particular pages or posts and exclude them on your homepage.
Instead of that, I would put a beautiful picture of your topic on religion in the header, so that visually it is clear what your website is about at the start.
Furthermore: compliments on the content of the blog posts, they seem very informative and well-thought through.
I sometimes see people when asking for comments on their blog posts, with very short articles which haven't been spent a lot of time on, and then I'm thinking: well, I'm not an expert at all, but it wouldn't surprise me if they are not getting anywhere with their website ;-)

What a great thought, thanks for your time. I'll go on to see how I can implement that.

Wonderful. Exactly what I wanted. Thanks so much, Abie.

You're very welcome!

You could use some featured images on your blog.

Your MMO site I can't access due to the fact that your site is specified as HTTP and not HTTPS.

please I want to know if it is the unused codes and java scripts that are affecting site traffic from increasing.

>Please, what are those things and tricks that can

A few things that i found so far that are helpful:

- deactivate and remove any plugins that you don't use at all or don't need any longer. I now have 12 plugins and that is more than good enough for me.

- uncheck 'allow pingbacks and trackbacks' in your blog posts (in the discussion section on the right, I have learned that in another tutorial)

- 'smush' your images with the plugin called 'smush'. Ever since I have done this, google speed insights doesn't give me errors anymore at all in the results regarding images.
Smush is free, but when in the beginning you need to 'smush' a lot of files, it is interesting to give the free 7 day trial a try. And then everything gets smushed in one go.
You can then easily cancel the 'free subscription', so that you won't be charged monthly. (remember to do that). You can still smush 50 images per day for free in the free version, so don't deactivate the plugin.

- go to websites, site manager here on WA. Go to the details of your website.
There should be a button with 'site speed', turn it on to 'extreme'.

At the moment, even after doing all of this, I am still struggling with my mobile speed.

I think it is because I recently added Google Adsense and that is holding my speed back for now, and I will try to fix that as well soon.
So certain code from plugins can still hold you back for a bit, but these should be the main steps that will move you forward a lot!

this is so wonderfully detailed. thanks so much as I swing into action.

you're welcome!

I hope you get it sorted out, Godstrong!

Jeff

I also left you a response on your previous question.
.

this is great Abie. exactly what I wanted. a training that can point me in the direction.

No worries and you're very welcome!

I personally use a couple of plugins that aid speed by reducing the image size ( Smush ) and Hummingbird has an effective performance test that can direct you to areas that need work.

Others may have other options but I find these two free plugins work for me.

Have a look if you wish and best of luck sorting the speed :)

thanks for the timely response, Vince. ill try them out now.

Smush is perfect for right size images and CDN, but other things like unused Javascript, doesnt help though in my opinion ;-)

You are correct , I do not have experience in theses fields , but do have success increasing speed with the plugin mentioned 👍

Page speed can definitely be a factor, but only if it's noticeable. For example, you can do a Google speed test and it can list a number of things to "fix", however many times fixing these things only shaves milliseconds off your page speed. So if your website takes an unusually long time to load, sure, you'll lose traffic. But if it's not noticeable as compared to other websites, those random things listed by Google page speed are probably negligible. Milliseconds won't change your traffic.

thanks, Eric, so happy to hear from you. ill try to see how I can get through the google speed test.

But if mobile speed isn't in the green, but stays orange on google speed insights, that surely can't be a good thing, no?

The thing to remember is that your users won't ever see your google page speed insights or their pretty green or orange or red colors, right?

I've seen so many members spend days and days trying to adjust minification and java scripts all to shave milliseconds off their page speeds that are ultimately completely unnoticeable. Meanwhile all that time would be so much better spent on creating content or working on other areas of the user experience that are much more meaningful.

Bottom line, if you don't notice something wrong with your naked eye then it's usually of very minimal concern. But you're the boss of your website, so you do whatever makes you feel better. :)

I kindly disagree Eric. Google had an update , I think last year, and one of the ranking factors was speed on mobile.
I have read so many times elsewhere than on WA that speed has gotten quite important.
On top of that, mobile views are getting more and more important for my site, it is almost 60% of the views. If that loads slowly for lots of people worldwide, then I miss on transactions, because people leave that post.
Also, it might look good on your end with the naked eye, because you have high speed internet, but not everyone is that lucky. And Google wants it to be good for the worldwide viewer. (not everyone has good 4G in this world)
It doesnt need to be perfect or a 100%, but in the red or in the orange is not good news at all.
Just my 2 cents.
Also, yes you might spend some time on improving things, but once you get it done, it goes automatically (like using the Smush plugin).
Just like the process of learning how to do things here, like SEO and building a website. Yes, that takes time, I know it took a lot of time for me to learn these things. But in the end, these are pretty important.

thanks so much, I appreciate your time and knowledge, and the value here.

Are there any tools that can help me find unused JavaScript and CSS code? I saw a recommendation for Removing unused code to speed up my site and page load time.

If you are referring to the scripts reported in PageSpeed tests, you will need to be careful removing those scripts without professional assistance, as it COULD cause your website major problems.

ALWAYS backup your website BEFORE doing ANY major changes like this.

My favourite backup plugin is: What you could do, is create a test website on the SiteRubix server, then using your backup file from your LIVE site... "restore" your test site to use your complete website.

Once that has been completed, be sure to go to your test site's Settings > Reading and check mark the Search Engine Visibility to Discourage search engines from indexing this site... which will keep your test site OFF the internet.

Then... you could try Google searching:
"Reduce unused JavaScript and defer loading scripts until they are required to decrease bytes consumed by network activity"
without the quotation marks, of course... and then you could follow some of the suggestions found in your search results.

This way... if your test site fails... you can ask SiteSupport to restore it and make another attempt... until you find one that works.

Personally, if that is the ONLY error your site is receiving, I wouldn't worry about it.

Hope you find this helpful.

great information. thanks so much, ma.

Good question and I don't think I recall anyone addressing that issue. I certainly have no idea.

But I may research the topic in Google. I usually can find the right answers.

thanks so much for being there my friend. let me place my fingers on it right away.
