I'm learning about using the dreaded hash tag and was wondering if it serves any purpose in the WA blog platform either in a blog I write or on a blog I reply to.

Simple answer is NO. As it stands now, using hashtags in your WA blog posts, tutorials and discussions has absolutely no benefit at all.

Hashtags are specific for use on social media and depending on the social media network using only a few is sufficient. To learn more about hashtags and how to create them, see below.

Good to know, Rob--Thanks!

Thanks for the info. I didn't think hashtags had any use in the WA platform. I was just curious. Your training was insightful, thanks for the link.

Greg

My pleasure Jeff

You are welcome Greg.

Good question! I think it is just another thing coming from social media.

It is indeed Shahlla and from what I'm reading, proper use of hashtags can be beneficial.

Thank you for your reply
Greg

Great question, Greg!

Thank you Jeff

Good Morning Greg,

I am one big question mark as I have never used it myself and neither know why I should use it if.

Greetings from the south of Spain,

Taetske

Taetske,
From what I've been reading, hashtags on Twitter and other social media is used for engagement, brand building and other reasons. Not sure if its used on FB, but I understand it is used on Instagram.

Thank you for your reply
Greg

Because it also stands for number. Maybe Greg might want to say You're #1, Taetske (Which btw you ARE!)

Jeff

Good afternoon Jeffrey,

Am I getting a compliment? that is nice thank you. Do I understand this correctly, instead of writing number 1 it is preferable to write #1?
Ay, me and my computer, me and understanding this modern language, me and......

Greetings from the south of Spain,

Taetske

Thank you, Greg. I only do Pinterest and FB and have never needed # in my writing, yet.

Greetings from the south of Spain,

Taetske

Its also been used as the pound sign. I know because I have too many of them. #####

I agree Jeff, Taetske is #1, along with you and many others.

Greg

Preferable? maybe, but completely acceptable. At least here in the US.

Yes, a well deserved compliment. #1

Greg

Me too, I call them my WA kgs.

Thanks, Greg! I did not presume to mean that's what you meant though--just throwing in my two cents!

Jeff

Hashtags are used on Facebook too

Yes, Taetske it was a very true compliment to you!😉😉

Making my day, Jeffrey, thank you.

Taetske

You're very welcome--you always make my day when you pop in, Taetske!😊👍👍

:)

Everything you do online serves. On Facebook, you gotta be subtle no overt selling. On Twitter, you have to be careful of upsetting the trolls, avoid politics and religion. That's all I know.

I was taught from a young age to never discuss religion, sex and politics. Ok, so I'm one of three, I'm a political junkie. It was in the family back in the day and kinda stuck with me. I respect the other two no-no's though.

Thanks for your reply
Greg

Yeah, your forgetting money. 3 of the most important things and nobody wants to talk about it.
I saw footage a few years back of a Muslim young black guy who had just cut off the head of an English soldier, explaining himself, and justifying what he had done.
Can you imagine the hurt and the seared conscience of that man?

He has to go on till his death trying to justify himself but he never can. And then when he stands before Jesus it's too late when all he had to do was tell God he was sorry for what he did.

He may receive punishment here and he deserves it.

The gov. and the police in the UK are protecting rape gangs. Go to Eric Metaxas on Youtube to hear the stories. They let them go and provide safe houses. This sort of bullshit is coming to the USA. Stand up with trump!

I'm a political junkie too, Greg!

Hey Greg,

If you can remember exactly when you deleted those images, you could ask SiteSupport to see if they may have an old backup of your website.
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites/support

Create a new free SiteRubix website and have them use the old file in the newly created free site you setup. This way you can retrieve the images, one by one and upload them to use once again.

You've already been told to NEVER delete your image from the Media Library, so all I can add here is to NEVER delete images unless you are certain they are no longer needed AND that you have copies saved on your computer... just in case.

Hope you find this helpful.

Thank You

Great Question, Greg! (I didn't take them👿)--Glad to see you're getting some good answers, my friend!

Are you sure you didn't take them Jeff? You have a lot of stuff in your place - you could have misplaced them. LOL

Now that you mentioned it, Randall--it's very possible! As I get older, my memory isn't what it used to be!🙄

Hey Greg,

All websites that you create on WA is hosted on the WA servers.

Which means that the images etc that you upload for your website reside on the WA servers too.

All images you want to use on your website, should be included in the media library.

Hope that helps.

Some great answers here already. I always wondered about the pictures in my wordpress. I'm not a computer person so it hadn't clicked about storage.

Thanks for the clarity

Lily 😊🎶

on something on here (not sure if it's blogs or questions) you need to put 3 tags, maybe check and see if there's a tag box near "submit" and if so add 3 tags and submit should work.

Please forgive me if I have the wrong thing here but thought I'd throw it out there

I've seen this in blog posting part of our platform but did not see it in the questions area. In a blog, if you forget to add tags, you are prompted to add them before being able to post. I did not see this in the question area.

Thank you for your response

Does anyone know the size limit imposed on media file storage?

learn to keep the size of the photo sensible and do not keep too many photos that are unneeded. at the top of your screen with a star in it - write your specific question in there and it would give you several answers!

thank yoiu

Welcome

from my first comment(* start- star)

Hey Greg,

It looks though the file storage can be increase whenever it becomes necessary. Check this post out: https://dmjcomputerservices.com/blog/wordpress-storage-quota-exceeded/

What that limit might be, I am uncertain... and one of my sites is LOADED with PDFs, images, Excel spreadsheet and even a tiny video... and I've STILL not maxed out.

Hope you find this helpful.

Thank you. Yesterday I was uploading about 650 megs of photos and about half way thru, I started getting "could not be uploaded" for each upload attempt. I tried single and multiple uploaders and ran into this. After rebooting and clearing cache, all seems to be working now.

I have another WP site not affiliated here, and with my plan over there, I've got 2 gigs of storage. It seems that WP & WA don't always play nice in the sand box. lol

Thanks for your insights.
Greg

Yes Greg, but then WordPress tends to be abused by many users when uploading humongous sized images. If we keep our image sizes the proper size, we'll not run out of storage space, I'm sure of it.
