Where Am I?

Good Morning WA

A very uplifting morning since logging into WA. So many great posts from so many great folks today. I want to give a shout out to Deborah, a.k.a Firefli. Her post I Looked, I Saw, I Entered prompted me to write today.

Like Firefli, I had wanted my own website for a very long time. About 10 years ago, maybe a little longer, I decided to create that site. Didn't have a clue. In fact, I didn't even have a goal, nothing. I just thought website = income. Umm . . . .

After a lot of research, well, maybe less than a lot, actually no research, I went to a hosting company and dolled out some cash and boom, I had a website. They offered little to no training, almost invisible community, and a lot of "Success Stories". What a load of crap and waste of money. One year later, My site was nowheresville. I didn't re-up my subscription.

I never gave up my desire to create. Over the ensuing years, I did some homework, read some blogs, followed a few of them, but never really made any move to create and start a business. That is until 7 months ago.

I came to WA and with 2 or 3 days, I bought in. It made all the sense in the world. Kyle and Carson really have created the best platform I've ever seen.

In those first couple of days, I spent so many hours reading, reading and reading blog after blog. It wasn't, and isn't, all hype. For sure there are success stories here, but I also saw blogs from folks who were seeking help, frustrated because of various reasons, and I also the community jumping in to offer help and guidance. Sharing stories of our journey's enriches both writer and reader alike.

The training here has more value than I can express. Site support is terrific, they've helped me out a few times without making me feel like the novice, tech ignorant dunce that I can be. I'm not one for chat rooms, but I have gone into live chat, asked the questions I thought were stupid (they aren't stupid really), and immediately got responses that were quite helpful. There is so much more to WA than I can acknowledge. For me though, the most valuable resource are the people who make up our community.

So, where am I now? Am I the highly successful Millionair Marketeer? Nope, far from it. I do have and operate 2 sites now with a slowly growing base of followers. I'm more business savvy than I ever thought I would be. And most importantly, at least for me, are the friendships I have with many, and the community in general.

I truly do love my morning routine with coffee and WA. I love reading the various blogs, commenting on most I get notified of and just the sense of community. Afternoons are spent with training, and just before retiring for the night, one last look at the blogs.

To the new folks here, welcome aboard. Get involved, follow the training and don't be afraid to ask questions. Whatever your goals, just know that they are possible. Though I am growing I still tend to be the tech ignorant dunce at times, but I'm getting better.

Thank you Firefli for your blog this morning.
Greg

Thanks Greg, I can relate to your post. I love the community and I've never previously been one to engage in social media or what I saw as idle chat rooms.
It feels like there's a sense of purpose about WA.
Have a great weekend.

Rick

No matter where you are on this journey, you can be sure that we are all like minded folks with similar goals, and that helps foster this community.
