Hello, just a quick question for wordpress gurus, can anybody recommend which wordpress theme can be good for site where users can download pictures - like textures for CGo Or

I am not a guru but if I can recommend to look for a magazine type theme and combine with Envira Gallery plugin which allow you to configure for the images to be downloaded by your readers.

https://goo.gl/s6kTRH (No affiliate link).

Hope that helps.

:)Joe

Thanks for the recommendation, while researching about Envira Gallery I found there are tons of other plugins as well - the difficult part is to choose one - ))

Think I'll go with free ones yet as this is a test project, will figure out later what features I really need.

Thanks for the help!

I am glad you have sorted it out..

Now decided to check page speed results and got this. I wonder is it because of images?

The worst performing page is the one with Amazon links and images (8 products wit

Hi Giorgi, if you click on the G icon, you will visit the PageSpeed Insights of Google. It will show you why you get a low score.

Run the PageSpeed for every post and page to fix the mistakes. It's not easy to get a perfect score but over 70-80 will be fine.

Hi Ilias,
as you said I went to check G icon and it just gave the score of optimization (for different pages it was from 88 to 99) but speed score was "unavailable" because of not enough data.

I guess I should not worry about it now, and concentrate on content instead.

Hey Girogi,

Have you turned on your SiteSpeed Extreme option yet?
Explained here: If yes, have you optimized all images? It could also be the time of day that you are checking your site speeds. Apparently, the busier the web server is that is hosting your site, the slower it is to respond.

Hope you find this helpful.

Hi Trish,

Thanks for the message

Yes, I SiteSpeed Extreme option is turned on, and images are optimized with EWWW plugin.

I checked it now and got a bit better results so I think it is really a server related problem.

But still I see a big difference between desktop and mobile versions, in some cases, it is a really big speed difference, the mobile version being on the lower side.

Is it normal?

Yes Girogi, I have noticed a big difference in my websites too... now that you pointed this out. I even went so far as to use Google's own tool to check.

One of my sites works perfectly... according to Google's PageSpeed Insights, except in Chrome. The other one that used to be perfect has now got a horrible rating.

Both sites load fine in mobile and desktop devices, so am now wondering if Google's tool (and thus WA's as it relies on Google's tool) are not reading perfectly anymore.

Google has demanded so many changes lately that is is affecting several sites when using their speed checker.

Personally, I'm going back to creating content and will check back on this issue once my site has plenty of content. Maybe by then those issues will have been addressed in theme updates and/or tools fixed.

Thanks again, I also decided not to pay big attention now, because when I open pages with mobile they are loading very fast. extremely fast.

Good idea, because this was shared yesterday: and I'm thinking that perhaps Google's tools are receiving a closer inspection and some scripts may not be working correctly until they resolve their issue completely.

Hi, got a question, is it possible to change domain on the already built site in WA? I tried changing it from WP dashboard but it was not possible from - Settings- General -- w

Are you talking about moving from

yourdomain.siterubix.com

to

yourdomain.com

OR about

changing

yourdomain.siterubix.com to yournewdomain.siterubix.com

from yourdomain.siterubix.com - to yourdomain.com

Thanks for the help, it on the way to the new domain!

You're welcome Giorgi!

What about the second part, changing from siterubix to newdomain.siterubix?
Thank you in advance

Hi~I would like to know the second part
(yourdomain.siterubix.com to yournewdomain.siterubix.com)
I just encountered this problem. I'll be very glad if you could tell me !!
Thank you very much!

You can't change a domain name. You need to create a new siterubix site.

Ohh~I got it. Thank you very much for answering my question!

Any time!

Cheers! Helped me too!

Glad to hear that Gareth!

Is it a SiteRubix domain name?

Yes, I registered it here in WA, the site has xxxx.siterubix.com as domain and I would like to change it to xxxx.com

Then when you have bought your own Domain name and it is registered at WA go to websites in the dashboard and Site Management. Find the site you want to transfer and click move underneath it will ask which site you want to transfer to then click move and the process is done for you. Everything will then show up in your new website with your new Domain Name

Thanks for the help, it on the way to the new domain right now!
