What are the types of interactions? What can it be used for?
I think it has to do with your rank also, but I'm not sure how that works. Anybody? Thanks! :)

I understand google favors views to our websites and also comments and questions, we approve, in the comments section of each page/post of our site, which lead to higher google rankings.
Here in WA we have an opportunity to check out, view, each others web sites, and also leave comments on each others site.
By being followed and also following others in WA we become notified within our group when wishing to have a page/post reviewed.
Interacting here in WA also results in higher rankings in WA too.

Comments and social shares feed your community engagement score. If people interact with your content it is perceived by Google as worth more than just an article with traffic.
Sorry.... the question was about following and being followed here at WA. The ranks that I was talking about is the rank here at WA. Sorry for the confusion..
In level 2, Lesson 10, Boosting you WA ranks, if you have gotten there yet, will discuss the areas of WA ranking. You can find your scores in different areas by clicking the little blue box with your Rank, upper right.
We can see what areas we have a tendency to promote here in our WA journey etc.by seeing scores in different areas...
The basics are listed here on the site. But the more you have follow you, the more you have who will see your blog, or posts, or questions here and interact. The followers here either learn to like you are hate you over time.
Fortunate for me I have some that follow me that do care, and try to help me along. :) And I follow some so I can help them as I know they are new. We have a public address system here you can change or leave as default which you get an email when someone writes a blog or post or ask a question. If you do not have time, I'd check mark all of the options and not fill your email box up with WA members. You can also pick certain categories to be informed about.

The benefits of following and being followed:
When you blog, that blog is sent to your followers emails. If your blog has links to your website, in your blog you can request comments on your site which makes you look better in the search engines.
Some of these followers here may even become users of your site which means that each new blog or article from your site will also be sent as a notification.
The followers here can follow you over to your google+ account where that same thing occurs.
Basically, the more views, the more you reach out, the better your rankings in the search engines.
Good points.. and what about ranks in WA... if I follow more people, would I rank higher? do you know? and if so, why.
Ranking has everything to do with your interaction among the community, not only by following others and interaction, but of course your blogging, asking or answering questions. The following is a blog all about Ambassadorship and Ranking.
