What is Click to Tweet?

Click to Tweet is a plugin or application that enables you to share your website content on the social media site, Twitter.

But instead of sharing the entire content, page or blog post, Click to Tweet shares a quote or a piece of content. Or even a picture.

I have added to following Click to Tweet box to one of my blog posts.

How to Share Content via Click to Tweet

• WordPress Plugins - Either stand alone Click to Tweet plugins or Social Sharing plugins like Social Warfare that includes Click to Tweet. The following screenshot of my WordPress admin area shows some Click to Tweet plugins available.

• clicktotweet.com provides an online link generator service to create Click to Tweets to their content.
  
• Sumo provides a Highlighter that adds a Medium-style feature that lets your visitors highlight any portion of your content. They then can directly share it to Twitter.

Why you should use Click to Tweet

• Establishes you as an authority - people love to share great content. And content from authority sites.
  
• Increases social media presence - people love and share clickable quotes and small bits of info. Derek Helpern (Social Triggers) covers this well in his blog post "How "Sound Bites" Score You Web Traffic"
  
• Gets more shares on Twitter and boosts website organic traffic from social traffic.
