To Create a Dog Blog or Not

Say hello to Coco, a seven-year old pit bull terrior mix.

My wife and I are going through the process of adopting her from the Senior Dog Sanctuary of Maryland (a non-profit, licensed 501(c)3 organization). We are hoping they will accept our application.

I am thinking that this may be a good niche to pursue.

I was not aware of how complicated it can be to adopt a dog, particularly a large, senior dog. But the dog rescue organization is careful about placing dogs.

I had a website previously in the dog niche. But I didn't do well with it. I am confident it would do better this time around because of the Wealthy Affiliate training and experience.

go for it. and Coco is a keeper!

Thanks, Steven!

Cheers!

Go for it. Your training and new approach sounds like a winning combination. You'd be helping a lot of people get through the system.
Debbie

I have decided to go with it, Debbie! My middle daughter adopted two dogs through a rescue organization.

My first dogs in 1975 were two German Sheperds one a male named Beer and the other female named Sally, I bought them while they were still small and I raised them. One day the female had blood in its poo so I went asked the Chinese lady who sold it to me what could have gone wrong. She asked what feed I gave her and I replied it was raw mutton. She told me raw mutton was the cause. My dog never recovered and it really hurt me when it died and I buried her with proper burial. The male one Beer when it got bigger I realized it had intelligence. My house is near the road and my dog used to lie beside the road it never barked as people walked by the road, but when someone tries to step into our compound it would straightaway bark and growl at that person. I had few others later. My Dogs were my best friends.

Thanks for sharing, Taniela. One of the things I've learned over the years is that veterinarians don't learn much about pet nutrition and rely on pet food manufacturers for information. Or at least the last several I have had.

Dog adoption is a very good niche. 10 to 15 years back it rank very high in niche ideas. It is amazing that today it still rank high. Go for it, you have my support and best wishes.

Thanks, David. I appreciate your input.

dog blog it. Good choice Glen!

Thanks, Mike!

It just dawned on me where you live. Our middle daughter lived in Hughesville for awhile. And I use to drive 5/235 down to Pax River Air Station for meetings on some aircraft programs.

The mind is a mysterious thing. Especially mine.

Spot on Glen!

I have a niche site related to dogs that I'm developing and absolutely love working on it. I say go for it, and i hope you're able to get Coco. What a sweetie!

Janelle

Love your site, Janelle! The adoption will be the trigger to move forward. In the meantime, I will research some specific sub-niches.

Thank you and good luck!

A very gorgeous lady!

I've thought of a dog niche myself after having my Rocky (Shih Tzu) for 16 years. A lot of personnel stories to tell, some in the "first person"!?!
I also had a purebred Pitbull years ago - what a sweet, loving soul she was.......
I hope you get Coco....I'm sure you'll be great parents!

Happy 4th!

Laurel

Thank you! Happy 4th to you, Laurel!
