Squoosh It!
I made significant improvements in my pagespeed times.
I have been using a new Chrome browser web app from GoogleChromeLabs called "Squoosh" to quickly and easily squoosh image file sizes before I upload them.
It is an easy app to use. I either drag and drop or select an image.
Users can choose from a variety of compression standards including MozJPEG, OptiPNG, and Google’s WebP. A small slider quickly adjusts the level of compression and shows the amount of compression.
A second vertical slider can be pulled across the image to see the effects of the compression used. At first, I checked the effects. Now, I don't bother because I don't notice the changes to the image after being compressed.
The app source is: https://squoosh.app
Enjoy.

Hi Glen, just adding to Rosanna's question, I do all of my publishing through site content which I believe has some form of image optimiser, coupled with the EWWW in Wordpress, how much more noticeable is this going to be in regard to site speed, do you think ?
Many thanks.
Good question. I didn't realize or think Site Content optimized images.
I am going to run some tests using GT Metrix to see.
I sure do! 😀
My speedpage scores improved once I started loading "squooshed" images.
Because Squoosh is still an experimental app, there is no plugin and it only compresses one image at a time. EWWW can bulk optimize images.
We started using Squoosh after you mentioned it a couple of months ago and, we agree, it works perfectly and we couldn't be happier with the results. Thanks again for another great recommendation, Glen.
