Google announces broad core algorithm update on Wednesday, March 13th.

So if there is a fluctuation in your traffic, it may be due to changes within Google. As always, Google states that there are no fixes if your rankings drop.

It still pays to use long-tail keywords because it is easier to rank for them.

People who use long-tail searches are looking for very specific information. So, if you can give them specific information, they are going to stay longer on site and convert.
