Content Writing Tip 5

We are constantly reminded people do business with those they know, like and trust.

To that end it helps to write plainly as if speaking to a friend.

TIP: Avoid the jargon, corporate-speak, or other speaking short-cuts. Pretend your reader or listener does not know your niche, industry, or business.

Our goal is to help people solve their problems. Not send the reader or listener to a dictionary to understand what you are saying.

Hope this helps.

Glen

It is so easy to lose the reader, some very good advice Glen, taking too a friend that works for me, thank you.

Thanks, Alex.

Good point glen!

There's a scene in that movie Philadelphia where Denzel says "explain this to me like I'm a 6 year old".

We have to be helpers first! Assume no one knows anything is the way you reach MORE!

You are welcome, Carol.

I used to think a Thesaurus was a type of dinosaur.

I am sad to say that I need to use both more often than I should.
