Choosing the Right Keywords for Your Target Market

Is your target market defined by age demographics?

Are you marketing to Boomers or Millennials? Or both?

The words you use help create the user experience your website visitor has. It may make a difference in whether you make a sale or not.

Your Search Engine Optimization efforts will help you create more organic traffic and sales if you are using words associated with your target market.

For example, different generations interpret the following symbol differently.

What it is depends on your age group.

Millennials will interpret this as a hashtag.

Boomers will interpret this as a number sign.

Astute marketers will recognize that different generations use words differently. And, consequently, their search terms, keywords, and ad copy will be different.

Bottom line: Know your target market and what attracts them.

I seriously doubt Millennials are looking for medicare approved, velco-tabbed, pedwalker shoes.

Thanks for the share, Glen! My niche is so complicated when it should be easy. I work with children, and a lot of kids seem to be growing up with older relatives. So, I guess I need to increase my audience age groups:). Thanks for sharing:). It has definitely made me think!
Blessings:)

It's food for thought.

How about "golden oldies".....who look at it as an empty tic-tac-toe game? Now there's a challenge for you.

Wayne

Kids will see it as tic-tac-toe! I just played with one of the grandkids.
