Looks like no one could give you the answer you need, Glen. Maybe you could send a note to management or pm an ambassador. My two cents. Good luck.
Joe

Thanks Joe, I have done that already just waiting for a reply. I will let everybody know what I find out.

Thanks,

When you're in edit mode, in the right sidebar there is a place to enter a category. So you just type in whatever category you like and click on Add New Category. You can enter as many categories as would apply!

I hope this makes sense!

Thanks Chery, I will give it a try.

- Glen B

Just took a look when I'm' in edit mode there are no sidebars in the interface.

We are talking about creating courses within Wealthy Affiliates Training Interface Right?

Thanks,
- Glen B

That I don't know about, Glen. If you're working on a blog post for a WordPress blog, that's how you add categories.

But I know nothing about creating courses. You'll likely get a good answer from someone who is familiar with that process.

Ok Cheryl,

No I'm very familiar with blog post categories. This is Classrooms for content in WA.

Thanks anyway,

I'm trying to automated some process in my email and customize sending based on if they are a referral or not. It's much easier to do this if I know the email.

I'm the best on e-mail sending, I've found out that if this thought has come to you, then it has been tried and I'm sure that one of the sisters or brothers here has made it happen.

I Hope So Elma... :-)

GlenB,
If you are preparing an email listing set the form on your website. I think that would keep track of your emails and at the same time your referrals. The other to see your referrals is in The $ dollar sing on the top of the page under Referrals. It show when the account was made and it will also give information on when the gone premium. Also you are going to see a tag call “ Tasks” it use to send messages to your referrals once they sign up. But you can use your email listing from the form at the bottom of your articles to get that information.
Hope this helps, very best.

Hi Olga,

Yes I have a landing page where people can optin to my trainings. Then I direct them to WA as the platform to learn and build their business.

The problem I'm having is that I want to have multiple lists. Say one for the optins, one for referrals when they actually sign up for WA, and one for My Premium Referrals.

My problem comes that I can't see the email of the new referral to move them manually, So I have to depend on the new referral to do something. Which as most will know only a small percent with take the actions you ask.

So my quest is for an automated way to do this.

- Glen B

Wish I could help Glen

No Problem Michael, When I figure it out I'll share so the community can learn.

Good question Glen would be nice to know for future
reference. Thanks :)

Good question, but unfortunately I don’t have a clue. Best of luck to you.

lol.. great answers below John..

- Glen B

Glen the only way it is possible to get the mil addresses is to ask for them before they come into wa
so on your site you need a optin form to add them to your list and then when they go premium then move them to another list manually
you maybe able to scrape some data from a google search as to whether they are premium but you will know,if they are your referrals so a quick move will put them on another list.
just make it clear why they are going on the list as it is another step before they come into the wa platform.
check whether this is allowed under the terms and conditions.

Phil

Hi Glen,

the only way that you will have access to a referral's email is if they came from your list and/or if they give it to you.

Referrals to WA's email addresses are not shared by WA.

Does the above help to answer your question Glen?

Tony

Yes Tony, In a round about way.

All of these people are on my list but I'm trying to be able to automatically move them to another list when they sign up as a referral. So I can communicate with them as a referral of WA.

Other than using the system here at WA I have not found a way to do this and it's all manual here except for the few preset messages that we can send.

Any Ideas?

- Glen B

HI glen, there isnt a great way to do this... the best thing to do is build in your auto-messages when a referrer of yours goes premium to message you their email. you will then have to manually put them in a 'buyers' list.

i know that is not ideal, but as of now, that is the best way to do it.

Thanks Chris,

You get my Gold Star Award of the Day.

I think I will add that to my referral and premium messages and have them go to a button that says I'm premium or for referrals Ok, I signed up. The button will programmatically change them to the appropriate list.

Not perfect and I hope that Kyle and Carson have plans to allow us to better manage our leads either via a built in autoresponder (not fun because they have to get good deliverability) or give us an option to use our own autoresponders as many other services do.

Awesome

I can only say what happens with Aweber where there is a facility to move customers between lists. I am not sure if other mail systems have this facility.

Hi Derek,

Yes most have that capability. But it has to be triggered by some action. In the case of WA they sign up for a free account. That would send a trigger to tag them and now I have a list of referrals that I can talk to a bit differently.

Your welcome

Are you able to segment your lists within Aweber?

Yes, Jon you can segment your lists but you have to have a trigger to move them. So I would have to have a way in WA to do that.

- Glen B

what you are doing is excellent. Creating a list with just yuor buyers. That is huge.

To be honest, there is no real way to do it. You will have to contact yoru premium referrals directly.

If you want to add some type of automation to it, i would include the request to join your 'buyers' list in your premium welcome message here at WA.

You can include automation within Aweber to remove someone from one mailing list and add them to another but i am not sure how to do that. I would contact Awber customer support for that.

Anyways you would do that to avoid mailing people twice or more in the same day.

i hope this helps, but it;s the best way that I cna think of to do it.

Thanks Chris, yes I was trying to find an automated way. I didn't really want to add a link in my Welcome to Premium message for them to click on but if I have to do that I will.

Thanks for the help!

Hi Zsolt,

Yes, I have been using aweber for almost 20 years. I'm am very familiar with the platform.

What I'm really looking for is how I can automate the process within WA.

Thanks for your Reply.

- Glen B

Sorry for the confusion Glen!

And now I'm really confused :)

If I understand, you have an Aweber form on your WA hosted site right? But, all that data and the list management is handled by Aweber ...

So if you want to perform any list management actions those should be done within Aweber and not WA ... Am I missing something here?

BTW: have you seen their new tagging features? Using tags in your signup form(s) maybe it could be a partial solution?

https://blog.aweber.com/new-features/one-click-automation-and-segmentation.htm

Yes, I advertise and send traffic to my form on my WA Blog. When they sign up I send a course via email that is tightly integrated with the WA platform.

When someone decides to sign up as a referral here at WA. I'm notified via our WA system. The problem lies here in that I want to segment them and send messages to them as someone who is a referral here at WA.

In order to segment them you have to let aweber know.

I will look into tagging but I still think it has to be triggered here at WA. I'm trying to automate the process so I don't have to go and manually tag them.

Thanks for your help,
- Glen B

OK but something like that would require an API connection between WA and Aweber right?

As far as I know there is no such thing ...

Yeah, I didn't think my question was going to get any favorable answers... lol

But you never know if you don't ask.

- Glen B

You're right.

And who knows? Maybe you'll get an answer and we'll learn something new ...

That's what I was hoping for!!

If not I'm going to build an app that reads my emails and finds new referrals emails and then compares the name to my list and segments them.. lol

Didn't really want to have to go to all that trouble.. ;-)

- Glen B

It's a really "exciting" topic ...

Please keep me informed ...

Till then ... waiting for you new app :)

When I go to the referral dashboard it only shows about 10 referrals and I have many more than that. I don't see any arrows to see more. Is anybody else having this issue.
<

Glen, glad you got it sorted and I will check my own now you have mentioned this : )

Cheers for sharing

Ok so here is what I found. After tinkering with the settings I was able to get all of the referrals to show.

It appears that only referrals that are in the time frame you have selected in "My Stats" show when you go to the referral screen. I'm not sure if this is a bug but for the time being if you want to see all of your referrals you will need to go into "My Stats" and select a custom date range that covers all time for you.

- Glen B

Glen, are you talking about the Referrals tab on the Program Details page? I only have one so far but I need to know where this is for sure for Future reference. Thanks

Sonny

That is correct Sonny.

- Glen B

Try another browser, then they are back again:)

It's not the browser I tried three different ones.

Thanks Loes!

My experience is, that when something isn't working correctly here, the boys are up to something.

Yes Glen, I noticed this the other week. I thought they had left but when I searched for some of them by name in the search bar, they came up so I am guessing they are still with WA.
Weird though!

It's not only weird it's not good. For several reasons.

1. I like to see if my team is making any progress. And I private message them to give encouragement to take action.

2. I have no idea how well my business is doing as I don't know how many referrals I have other than the reports that show I've been getting them.

Just wanted to make sure I wasn't the only one.

Hi Kyle, Carson, and All the wonderful people here at Wealthy Affiliate.

I was just thinking and there are only 25 people that can be an Ambassador out of 1.4 million pe

I read the conversation between you and Cam below.
I see it both ways, as you do.

Like I recently said in a post, I am an ambassador. But I didn't TRY to get there.

I devote time to my site, just like I do helping members here in the community.

I do it because I LOVE doing it. When I first started and asked a million questions, there was always someone there to help me for every question.

Though there may be some who only do it for the rank (and you can normally tell), there are others that didn't even try to get there.

Doing what came natural to them, got them there. Those who are there are able to have a successful business and help us out as well.

They are true ambassadors and I am sure we all agree on that.
But when you see the most deserving people have it taken away, it affects you (me), because they have always been there to help you (me).

No not everyone deserves it. There are those that do. They don't deserve to lose their status because of the ones that don't.

Lee Ann

I'm with you Lee Ann,

I would hope people see me as an ambassador even though I don't have the designation.

It not my intention to get it either I'll just keep helping anytime I can.

Great comment Lee Ann!!

- Glen B

Hello, Glen B

I think many people, extroverted and introverted, love recognition, openly or quietly. I think this platform caters for both types marvelously. I have been described as introverted. I thrive in small groups, in one-on-one interactions, alone behind my computer, and I would not normally seek out recognition. If it comes as a result of my quiet pursuit of knowledge to improve my condition -and in the process that of others - then I welcome it, usually quietly. But this platform gives me the choice to announce it too as a form of encouragement to others - and to me. And I have done it.

I should like to think those who assist do not do so first and foremost in order to achieve ambassadorship, but to genuinely assist a fellow WAer. I have viewed the rankings as an encouragement not only to get on with the training so we get to the earning, but also as an interim reward for performance on the way to achieving our goal. The Ambassador level for me not only recognizes the achievement of both, but also encourages the spirit of generosity that I believe defines the WA community.

Awesomeness!
Mojalefa.

Thanks for your contribution Mojalefa,

I'm in agreement with what you say.

- Glen B

Glen,

More than just an idea, a great idea, well thought out and presented.

Thanks and blessings.

Thanks for that!

- Glen B

Hey Glen -- all ideas are welcomed & need to be explored, ok...

... respect that you've been with WA for a long time -- almost a decade from the looks of it!

... just my opinion and here it is:

... the best attribute of the Wealthy Affiliate Platform is that it is the ultimate 'equalizer' ...

... a place where people have a really fair shot at success by building their own business as it evolves ...

... we recognize that both Carson & Kyle have enough of a heavy workload on their plates and 'Uncle Jay' is our regular weekly trainer and frankly, they already are our true WA 'permanent ambassadors!' ...

... everyone needs to give of their own accord without expectation of a return ... that's true giving & true contributing!

... WA is gift enough ... :)

Well, Glen, that's my 38 cents worth for today ...

thanks kindly for posting ... all the best ... :)

Thanks for your comment.

The people that are in the top 25 do give to the community from their own heart.

I appreciate them and thank them all for what they do.

- Glen B

Jay is a Gold Ambassador.

We have many Gold Ambassadors. And if they were moved into that role and taken out of the top 25 ranking. That would open up 25 new Ambassadors, I think Gold Ambassadors would then have a new ranking GA-1 to however many there are.

- Glen B

Why? I think the idea is to focus your time and effort to come up with these types of things in your own business. I barely see any of the Ambassadors here as it is and giving out titles just creates separation where it's not necessary.

I see way too many folks blogging about their number of followers like this is some kind of competition. Utilize the people that you can be closest with and don't put emphasis on time wasting.

One thing I dislike is feeling ignored because I don't have the same top 50 status, ambassador status or time to spend every waking moment here.

Lot's of people are more reserved and don't need to be the center of attention in order to feel important. We get enough of them in the success posts that are not really that interesting since they are just posting numbers.

Creating a way to show appreciation is fine, it's called a comment. I stopped doing WA blogs because nobody reads them and here you are trying to create some pageant that isn't necessary.

So, if you want better recognition, get that from your websites. This community will not prosper when too many are just excluded from a reward system that is already biased and opinionated.

Eric

Sorry Eric,

I disagree. Those that are here and help others to succeed. Should be recognised. My suggestion is merely allowing more to be recognised.

Promoting Wealthy Affiliate is one way of building this business. Recognition in that helps to define those that are truly helping others.

This community benefits from those that help. Most do it just because they want to. But it feels good when someone recognises that and gives you an award.

Thanks for that Kyle and Carson!!

I'm not an Ambassador. I just think people like Kyle, Carson, Jay, Loes, Kaju, and many of the others who do tirelessly help others deserve it.

- Glen B

I said rewards are fine but they must include more people. When you want a trophy for just being a good member here it becomes an issue that is more selfish then self-less.

You do know that Ambassadors already get a free trip to Vegas. That means even the people who don't offer a value similar to the people you mentioned will get a reward for nothing.

Everything already is a popularity contest in this life, I prefer to be rewarded in private rather than have a bullseye on my work.

If you need to recognize those people, create an award for them and put your free time into the event.

As I said it's just a distraction to worry about foolish trinkets when you are trying to build a business outside of here anyways.

In case you weren't aware, the ones who create the most popular pieces of training do get monetary compensation.

So there is already an Award given out for those. No matter how you do a recognition system there will be other people left out that deserve to be acknowledged and appreciated.

A list of 100, 200, 300? What happens when they are gone for long periods of time or if worse case they die?

I appreciate your thoughts Eric,

I agree more should get recognised. And that was my whole point with the number of people in this community only a very very very small percent can reach Ambassador.

No I didn't know they get a free ticket to Vegas. I had no idea.

I personally have a goal to help as many people as I can to build a business using Wealthy Affiliate because I really believe in the platform and the people behind it.

If I become Ambassador because I helped a bunch then great, if they take it away Ok.. it doesn't matter to me.

But, I do like that people who work hard to help others get recognised. I just think more people that are really helping should be able to be recognised.

I agree, working your business is most important.

Cramervod, I do see a point to what you are saying about creating a greater divide via a biased reward system. I've been wondering how important ranking actually is. I do enjoy the community here at WA, but would rather spend most of my time on my business.
@Glen B, my first thought after reading your post was that the Gold Ambassador might be a good idea for newbies or anyone with overwhelming questions/issues. If there was a specific way to contact that group, help would be a button away. I know we have live chat as a way to ask for help. Not always dependable.

Thanks for your input Pat,

I just wanted you to see a different perspective as far as recognition goes. Some people value it and others don't want to be marked by it.

Exclusion of somebody else will come up which means it will likely cause more harm than good. A private method or a user-created award can be done but then who judges?

This is such a general concept though who offers the most value when you compare things you shouldn't compare?

What I don't see does matter and it goes the same for what you don't see or what Kyle or Carson doesn't see.

Anyway, it's not really a debate that needs to take place since it's not really one where there is a true necessity for it.

I am sure you have an allotment for the time you spend here and anywhere else. Just think about the way an Award impacts the universe instead of the individual.

Wishing you the best and I enjoyed this back and forth. :-)

Eric

Thanks for your perspective Eric,

Healthy discussion is always appreciated.

I have seen Ambassadors who don't like to get inundated with lot's of Pm's because they receive too much recognition. There are many people who don't have an active referrer and it's one thing I would like to get more help with.

Not everyone who comes here has learned the necessary skills to realize who can help them or how to best ask for that help. I know for certain that Jay dislikes people trying to take advantage of him.

He has said that in his webinars and he explains how you should only PM him once. Out of respect, it creates an atmosphere where you don't want to continue looking foolish, but you don't have any option for more thorough types of help.

Live chat is great if there is somebody around who knows it all. But most people don't fall into that category because they are not full time or in the same niches.

At the same time, I am fully aware that you must face problems by yourself in order to make the mistakes that teach you the best lessons.

While there are many great things about WA it's the same as any other platform. People give out poor advice and it can screw things up but not asking the right person isn't really that quick of a solution either.
