Why Time Management Is Important In Life!

Why time management is important in life is because we don't know how to use it wisely. Do you ever find yourself running out of time? Wondering where the time went? I know I do.

Today I was on Site Comments offering comments and I read a post by Babs Wagner called "Time Management In Online Marketing! Success is Planned!

It's a great post. It hit home. If there's one thing that I'm not very good at, it's managing my time.

Part of it is because I kind of think of myself as a "free spirit," and like to take life as it comes.

Another part is that I'm kinda lazy, although I don't like to admit it. I like to take it easy and relax. My wife could tell you stories.

So, Is Time Management All That Important?

Yawn!

That depends on the level of success you want to reach. Sure, you can slide by in life, and a lot of us do. I've done my share of sliding by. But, there's a problem.

Time doesn't care. It rolls along no matter what we do with it. And, once it's gone, we can't get it back. No do-overs.

What I'm trying to say is that if we procrastinate, wait to do things, or do them slowly and lazily, we are pushing back our success. THAT'S the problem!

Example:

Let's say that there is an unwritten (and unknown) law that you don't get to make any money until you have written 150 posts. Unwritten in stone. With your 151st post the cash starts rolling in. (I know,I know, but it's just an example. Bear with me.)

Laura, who is a go-getter, gets busy and writes 5 posts a week until she reaches 150 and starts earning money. It takes her 30 weeks, or about 7 1/2 months. Yay for Laura!

Grant (I'm using my own name for the bad guy) gets busy too and writes 5 posts a week for, say, 4 months, then slows down because he's not making money yet, and writes 2 posts a week until he reaches 150. It takes him almost 13 months to start earning money.

If Grant had kept writing 5 posts a week, he would have started making money about 6 months earlier.

I know, I know, it's not that good an example. I think it illustrates my point, though. Success comes later when you work at it slower.

When We Consciously Decide To Spend Our Time On Other Things, We Are Unconsciously Pushing Back Our Success!

I'm not saying that other things aren't important. I just want you to realize that when you neglect your online business, you slow down your path to success. That's not necessarily a bad thing. Your priorities matter, and other stuff may take precidence for a while.

Just don't let your "free spirit" or your laziness get in the way of reaching your dreams! The time we have is too important for that.

Leave me a comment and tell me what you think.

I'm Grant.

Time management is one of the things we all need to get our heads around, in order to achieve.

A timely reminder, Grant.

Alex

Thanks, Alex. I'm one of the ones who need it the most.

Good Morning Grant,

Well, well, your wife can tell us stories? That made me laugh.
I normally write 2 posts a week, one for each website, that is my maximum.
At the moment I do not have time for that as I am occupied by what I created, my WA post.
I hope you do not mind that I send you the link. Greetings from the south of Spain,Taetske

Good to hear from you again. I don't mind at all that you sent me your link. I'll look at it this afternoon.

I want to believe it would be very difficult to become self-actualized without working on time management. We really need to plan our work based on time management and we will be able to accomplish all of our goals on time. Thanks for the great post!

Thanks for the great comment. I’ve been following you for a while now and I like your posts. Great to hear from you.

Perfectly well said, do not lose your time, stick on your priority, many people treat time as if it is in abundance with nothing gained, you cannot get it back, as you point it out, it has gone forever.
So, we have to spend time wisely.
Jacqueline

Yes we do. Still, we should try to enjoy life as much as we can. :-)

Thanks for that. I need to read your post as a mantra each morning. Today I also came across: " Either you run the day, or the day runs you."

In my business classes I heard a lot about the time value of money. Not so much about the money value of time.

So very true! Time management is something I am going to be focusing on very soon. With my site here at WA, full time uni, two kids and a partner who works away I think I will need to manage every minute of my days so I can make sure I complete my goals and have some balance in life! Thanks for the timely reminder!

Thanks for the comment. Sounds like your hands are full!

They certainly will be but I thrive on being busy! Just need to ensure, like you say, that I plan my time well :)

My hat’s off to you.
