Well, Dang! Now What Do I Do?
I woke up this morning and started to check my emails, and I got this notification that I am now in the TOP 200 in rankings here at Wealthy Affiliate. The notification said to write a post and let the community know.
Now, I'm not one to toot my own horn too much, but as I thougth about it during the day, I decided that it WOULD be a good opportunity to write something.
I'm a little bit clueless about how the rankings work. I was over 3000 for quite a while, not that long ago, then it started coming down. I think the reason that I'm now in the top 200 is because of the SWAG tasks that I have been completing. My participation in the community is way up because Kyle is making me do it. (I'm smiling here.)
I'm also not sure I deserve it. I'm a macro learner. A big picture guy. I do the training, and when something works, I don't question too much. I'm happy. That means that when people ask questions I usually don't know the answer. Macro learners like things to work, and that's good enough.
Micro learners are different. They are "down in the weeds" people. They ask questions like, "Will my RSS feed work better if I align it with Saturn during the vernal equinox or should I just keep it where it is until the age of aquarius?"
My answer is "What's a RSS feed?"
"Will I get better traffic if I use a picture of a person with blue eyes or brown eyes?" My answer is "Huh?" I can't answer those questions.
So, I don't know how much help I can be to others. Usually they know more than me. But I try.
By the way, I've noticed a lot of people ask questions when the answers are found in the training if they'd just look. Usually someone else decides to be helpful and looks up the answer for them and gives them the link. I think people should look for themselves first. Just sayin'.
Have You Ever Had A Song Run Through Your Head And You Can't Get Rid Of It?
That top 200 notification put an old song from the 1960s into my head. Big Irving, the 142nd Fastest Gun In The West. 141 men could draw faster than he, but Irving was looking for number 143. It was a parody song. Here are the lyrics (screenshot).
Most of you are too young to remember it, but you can probably hear it if you google it. Why you'd want to, I have no clue.
Here's My Humor Quote For This Post
That's me sometimes.
Thanks for reading. Leave me a comment. You guys are the best!

Awesome post and congratulations on your top 200. I’m a bit like you... not terribly analytical and I agree there are too many people who ask questions before searching first.
However, each to their own.

Congratulations...enjoy your success. I don't understand how the rankings work either. We all contribute different things in different ways....just accept the honor and keep doing what you do!
