The Other Day I Was Researching For A Review.

I needed something to write about (sound familiar?) and I went online and entered the keywords "home business" and browsed the results. I found a link that looked promising for a review, to a site called

Clicking the link took me to a sales page that offered a video. Since I was researching for a post, I clicked on the video. The video was a bit (really a lot!) vague, but I could get the details by watching a second video that would give me the skinny (info).

There was a catch, though. To watch the second video, I would have to provide my name, my email address, and my phone number.

I thought long and hard about that, but since I was trying to gather information for a post, I finally bit the bullet and added my info. I was cringing as I did so.

I won't bore you with the details, but what I learned from the second video was that the Home Income System promoted something called 'link posting."

From what I was able to figure out, link posting is where you go to other people's websites and add your links into the comments section of their posts or pages. Pretty much spam.

The post I wrote said so, too.

Anyway, we all have to pay for our sins.

Since I entered my information to gain access to that second video, I have received 4 or 5 phone calls from people telling me that they have found me a job. The conversation starts out with the person on the other end telling me that they had information that I was looking online for a job, and GREAT NEWS! They had a job waiting for me!

I ended these conversations quickly by telling them that I am retired so why would I be wanting a job?

It seems that the phone calls have stopped. Now the emails have started. Here are 2 that I have received so far:

Notice that both emails say that it's their third attempt to contact me. These are the first emails I've received. Maybe they are counting the phone calls too. Who knows?

There was no disclaimer saying that my info would be given to anyone, and I gave no permission to the website owner to share my info. That didn't stop them.

I hope my post on the Home Income System gets me some traffic. That would make it at least a little bit worth the hassle.
