My Milestone

Don't panic, but I have a test question for you. It's multiple choice, so it'll be easy. Here goes:

Which of these three choices is good to have?

A. Gallstones

B. kidney stones

C. Milestones

If you picked A or B, you're hopeless. Or you're really bad at taking tests. I'm willing to bet that everyone picked C.

The term "milestone" originated around 1746, and is defined as a stone serving as a milepost. Duh.

It's also defined as a significant point in one's development. It's a measure of progress in any endeavor. That's the definition I'm writing about here.

1 Year At Wealthy Affiliate!

Yesterday, May 5, I got notified that I've officially been a premium member of WA for a year. I'm no longer a freshman. Today I'm a sophomore at Wealthy Affiliate University. Does that mean anything other than I've been here a year? It does to me.

Looking back, it's been good and not so good, but mostly good. I really thought that at the 1-year mark I would be earning enough to pay for my yearly premium membership and my domains.

Hasn't happened yet.

There are some reasons why. First, It does take a while to become an authority site. Of course it depends on your niche to a certain degree. Some are more competitive than others. I'm trying to break into a highly competitive niche, the MMO (Making Money Online) niche.

I"m a part of the SWAG challenge, trying to earn a trip to Las Vegas next year. So far since the challenge started I've attracted 1 referral, who hasn't upgraded to premium yet. I've got 72 posts on my site and 241 comments.

On the not so good side, I'm only getting 6 or 8 visitors per day on that site. I need a lot more than that to be successful. I've decided to go back and check the keywords for my posts to see if I can rank higher.

In the beginning I started with 2 websites, the bootcamp site and a niche site. I thought that I could develop both at the same time, but I came to realize that dividing my efforts was slowing both sites down.

I've temporarily put the niche site on hold and am developing the bootcamp site full time, to get it off the bottom of the lake, or off the ground and into the air. (Are you a swimmer or a flier?) The challenge is to make it to Las Vegas next year.

Other things I've learned, is that you have to be persistent and consistent. You have to do the training. It's good, and it's relevant to success.

I've always followed the training, but I haven't been as dedicated as I could have been. There were times when I thought of my online business as more of a hobby than a real business. That slowed me down. I posted about it, even.

I've also learned patience. I believe that soon in the not too distant future I will be joining those members who are getting referrals consistently. I'm a naturally positive person and I believe that success will come.

I also want to thank all the WA members who have answered my questions, and have given me great advice during the last year. Also those who post their experience and success, and their advice for the rest of us.

I hope I haven't offended anyone with my light-hearted posts that I occasionally write. If I have, please accept my apology.

Here's to another year, and to when I become an upperclassman next May 5. Then I'll be a junior!

Good luck to all of us! Let's all become Super Affiliates!

Please comment if you'd like.

I'm Grant.

Thanks.

72 posts and 241 comments is nothing to be sneezed at, well done. I hope to be that far along in 12 months time :)

Thanks. Best of luck!

Grant, I think it's great you're willing to share your story. I believe it makes the whole journey toward success more realistic and at the same time, even more achievable. Your words take away the negative and from them come inspiration to do better. Thanks for that, Grant! Best of luck to you!

Congrats Grant! Definitely the best 'stone' to have. :)

Hi, Mark! Thanks. I've never had either of the bad stones. Hope I never do!

Congratulations on your one year anniversary! I know that you've been enriched beyond just financial returns through WA. Best wishes for great success in your sophomore year!

Thank you, my friend.

Well done Grant. I am still training, but I want to get to Vegas the year after next.

Derek

Maybe I'll see you there!

Let's hope so Grant.

Way to go Grant. Even though you have the good and bad and still having some struggles, I am sure you have gained a large quantity of knowledge to improve over the time. You will make it.

Thanks. Yes, I think I'll make it, too.

I have faith you will. You are welcome

Congrats!

Many thanks!
