Thank you ever so much to the many of you who have started leaving comments on my website. I shall return comments in the next couple of days of course.

To those of you who may have tried but came across a JavaScript and cookies blocking message, please try again. I have now disactivated the WP Spamshiled plugin, and this should enable you to post comments on my pages freely.

Thanks again, really much appreciated

As per usual, I am really grateful to all the WA members that have taken their time to go through my website http://livingwithaborderterrier.com/

Many of you suggest I should attract more comments to the site, to increase traffic. Others see the site as a good platform for a forum of dog/border terrier owners. Watch out, this is my next step, getting through to the Bootcamp section where I can be guided to implement a subscription system to launch a healthy and hearty forum.

For now, I have just published my latest blog on dogs allowed to sleep on their owners' bed (http://livingwithaborderterrier.com/do-you-let-you...). To the many dog owners out there - and I know there's quite a lot of you out there - I'd be most grateful if you could take 5 minutes to read through my blog and leave your comments directly on my website.

And to the many friends I have made here at WA since joining in March this year (yes, it is already 6 months!!), please leave your feedback below. It is thanks to your suggestions, however ruthless they may sound, that I know I shall improve on making my website better.

Much love to all

Giulia :)

Thanks,

Thanks for the lovely comment Kathy, and I've left mine on yours too. Giulia :)

I think your site is amazing Guilia, really well done. I just want to comment on your latest blog... Uhmm I think it all depends on the size of the dog. We had Rotties & I couldn't imagine having one of them on the bed hahaha

Oh yes, I see your point Lin. They are rather big boys, and girls, and you'd probably need to get out of bed yourself in order to let them hop on! But, I have to say, Rotties are lovely dogs, the most sweet natured eyes I've ever seen in dogs!!!
Love. Giulia

Yes they are great dogs & I have to tell you that my first puppy when I got out of home many, many, many moons ago was a teacup silky terrier. He would have been alright on the bed, but I never thought of it at the time :)

Well it's nice to hear that you have maintained the family tradition of having dogs. I'd like to think that my son will do the same when, in many many moons time, he's going to have his own family. Big or small, rotties or borders, dogs are a big responsibility but with their companionship they complete your life. Well, at least I think so. Giulia :)

Great post. I did leave comments but I can't see it. I am not sure if I did correctly . ... if not I will redo

Oh your comment was there alrightMarian. Thank you ever so much, I have just responded and approved it. And really much appreciated for sharing your family canine adventures with us, really funny but sweet.
Giulia :)

thanks for confirming Giulia. Pets are great fun. Right now I having difficulty typing because Shamus my beautiful Tuxedo cat has decided to sleep on the keyboard. I hate to push him off because I don't want him to feel unwanted.

Best, Marian

Oh yes, I know the feeling of the keyboard fascination!!!
Giulia :)

Btw Mariam, I'm in the process of returning comments, and I'd like to do the same for you. What is your website?
Giulia

Thanks Giulla. I will update you when I done. Thanks for the offer.

Hi Giulia, a most interesting post. Irv.

Thanks Irv, much appreciate.

Hey Giulia, I checked out your website. My next door neighbor has a dog that is similar. He likes to bark at me when I get off work at night. Every time he does that, I growl at him. Then start to cry and go back inside. I do that to be funny. The neighbor tells him to get his but inside. He's a nice dog, though. The dog is gray.

Well yes, they can be highly entertaining. Thank you for going through my blog :)

Me again Roger, to say I just left a comment on your lovely website. I hope you don't mind. Giulia :)

Great post Giulia. I have found that the "border" in terriers, collies and other dogs is usually that between England and Scotland because of their sheep herding abilities.

I think that competence is more innate of the collies, who are greatly used for that very purpose. My Indy I am not sure would be very good for the job. But, let him get the hint of a rapidly moving creature, such are rodents, vermin, or even cats, and he'll be off, on the chase like a lunatic!!
Thank you for your comment. Giulia :)

Great article Giulia. We have an older Rhodesian Ridgeback which goes by the name of Willow.
We have had Ricgebacks for 33 years now and for a few years, we were breeding and raising them through our ŕegistered Canadian Kennel Club name of HelmRidge Kennels.
We have always allowed or females, access to our home, but our males were kennelled in our backyard, mainly dué to their size.
Willow is now 11 and will probably be our last dog. She has always been allowed to sleep on our bed with us and although at times it has been inconvenient bc her spot used to be my spot.
You see these funny little pictures sometimes where the husband only gets 1/4 of the bed, well now if I don't get there 1st, I'm lucky to even get a sliver of room.
Anyways, enough of my rambling. It has been encouraging to read your blog and to see your websites.
Take care and have a Lovely Weekend.

Gary

Thank you for your kind words Gary. Your predicament with the lovely Willow has brought tears to my eyes ... with laughter!! I must say, in spite of his reduced size compared to Willow, my Indy can stretch enormously to take a good half of the bed when he wants to. And he normally prefers to do so in the middle of the bed and horizontally, so that both my husband and I are pushed to the very edge by either side. So much of romantic marital bliss!!
But, we would not change our Indy's sleeping habits for the world. Especially if, as you remind us, we stop to think that it will not be forever.
Take care Gary, you, your family and the lovely Willow.
Giulia :)

My dog is far to big to sleep on my bed....he takes up to much room and I can't cope with being restricted, he has tried a couple of times when I wasn't looking.
I don't have a problem with animals sleeping on the bed in general....if everyone is happy, why not!
Sandra

Oh yes, I can see your problem, I mean with Frank's size. Have you ever thought of getting him a 'hoomin' bed of his own? Oh no, I am kidding, I promise!!
Lovely picture of Frank's though, and thanks for your comment. Giulia :)

He has beds all over the place, plus he has managed to call the sofa he's own....how many beds dose one dog need lol

Me again, Sandra, first of all to tell you that your Frank looks adorable. But mostly, I left a comment on your website and, well, I just wanted to let you know I'm absolutely in love with your site, and with your posts. You've chosen such a versatile theme, the pictures, the actual posts, everything in my view is absolutely brilliant. And believe you me, I don't say this lightly.
I hope you don't mind, I might quote you and insert a link to your site in one of my posts. I hope, if you will, you'll be able to do the same.
Much love. Giulia :)

You have just made my day Giulia...thank you so much for your lovely comments on my site and the first one to do so, I have been having so many doubts about it as this is my first attempt at anything like this and no technical skills in this field. I know there are many sites covering dogs and behaviour so I thought I would try and take a different approach, I have always had an interest and passion for the psychology of dogs....I think they are amazing creatures and I feel so strongly when I hear or see them being missed treated or misunderstood. I' am so pleased that you got my site, and i have loads more to add to it.
If there is anything that you didn't understand or any mistakes that you spotted I would appreciate you saying.

I would be pleased to include a link to your site as I' am going to do a page on different breeds.

Many thanks love Sandra

Your blogs are great. It brought back fond memories from my childhood when I had a dog named Teddy. He generally slept on my bed at the foot of it each night. In the winter time, I really appreciated him because he kept my feet extra warm.

Thank you my lovely. I take Teddy is no longer with you, and I am sorry to hear that. But I am glad you understand where I am coming from. How can you resist their company? and their cutie faces?!?!
Thank you ever so much for your input. Giulia :)
